Weidner during a nuptial Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic church Saturday, June 24. Vows were repeated before the Rev. John C. Holdren during a 4 o'clock ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Knox of 10611 Conley road, Huntley, and the parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Walter R. Weidner of 5716 S. Solon road, McHenry. The John Evans inn of Crystal Lake was the setting for a reception with 240 guests toasting the bridal couple. The bride is a 1973 graduate of Crystal Lake high school, attended McHenry County college for 2 years, and is currently a student at Northern Illinois university completing a BS in finance. The bridegroom graduated from McHenry Community high school in 1968, received an associate of science degree from McHenry County college, and also attended Western Illinois university. The bride was escorted to the altar of St Mary's Catholic church by her father to stand before the Rev Eugene Baumhofer for an exchange of vows solemnized during a 5 p.m. nuptial Mass Servers at the Mass included two brothers of the bride. Sagers of 4602 W Willow lane, McHenry The bride designed and made her gown of crepe back satin with an overlay of angel wing chiffon accented with scattered lace motifs The bodice was styled with a scoop ruffled neckline and long chiffon sleeves with ruffles at the wrist Her full skirt fell from an empire waistline, swept into a chapel length train, and featured a deep flounce at the hemline A crown of fresh white roses, daisies and babies breath held a chiffon veil and a bridal bouauet of white roses, daisies, stephanotis and baby's, breath was carried The bride was attended by her sister. Beth Jablonski of McHenry. with another sister, Cathy Jablonski. also of McHenry. acting as her bridesmaid The attendants were gowned in floor length high waisted polyester knit dresses made by the bride The gowns of peach and yellow featured a deep ruffle at the hemline and complementary long-sleeved floral print jackets Each carried a basket of fresh yellow, peach and white daisies and wore a single white daisy in her hair The responsibilities of best man to the bridegroom were handled by Jack Schultz of Crystal Lake and Larry Withrow of McHenry assisted as groomsman The mother of the bride made her mint green princess style floor length gown of qiana knit while Mrs Sagers chose a floral print full length lace trimmed gown of polyester The bridal couple were toasted at a wedding reception immediately after the ceremony at the McHenry Country club where ap proximately 100 friends and relatives enjoyed dinner and dancing Guests of honor in eluded the %ride's grand mothers. The travelers were Pat Wotjas and Ercell Richardson of Crystal Lake, Mary Alice Carey of Woodstock and Bobbie Fossum of McHenry. They will relate details of their trip at the next general meeting to be held Friday, Aug 4, at 8:30 p.m. at the American Legion hall. Oak and Woodstock streets, Crystal Lake. All first time guests are urged to attend the orientation meeting which begins at 8 p.m. Refreshments, fellowship and dancing will follow the meeting. University of Illinois extension adviser They are more difficult to get* • out the longer they stay in a fabric Once set. some may be impossible to remove Knowing the stain and the fiber content of a fabric also aids treatment If not sure whether the color or fabric will be affected, test the suggested stain remover on an in­ conspicuous part of the gar­ ment Always launder washable fabrics immediately after treating a stain to remove it completely as well as the stain remover Prewash soil and stain removers, enzyme pre-soaks, oxygen and chlorine bleaches, detergents - many of the frequently used laundry aids -- are helpful in removing summer soils. Check package instructions on how to use these aids, and on all laundry products for the kind of stains they may take out The Soap and Detergent association offers methods for removing some of the most common summer stains from washable fabrics Blood - Soak in enzyme pre soak product Launder as usual. Catsup - Scrape off excess with a dull knife Soak in cold water 30 minutes Rub detergent into stain while wet launder in hot water using chlorine bleach, if safe for fabric, Fruit Juices -- Use an enzyme pre soak, then launder Or. soak in warm or cold water Wash as usual Treat remaining stain Cover area with an oxygen bleach Moisten with hot water to make a paste Add a few drops of ammonia Wait 15-30 minutes, then launder again (ireasy Stains -- Pretreat with a heavy-duty liquid laundry detergent or a prewash soil and stain remover For heavy stains, place stain face down on paper towels Apply dry cleaning solvent to back side of stain, replacing towels frequently Let dry Then rub in liquid detergent or dampen area with water, rub with bar soap, liquid detergent or detergent paste, made with granules and water Rinse and launder Milk,Cream.Ice Cream -- Soak in warm water with an enzyme pre-soak product Wash as usual Mustard - Apply a prewash soil and stain remover Or, dampen stains with waterpnd rub with bar soap Rinse and launder using chlorine bleach, if safe for fabric If not, soak in an enzyme pre soak product or an oxygen bleach using hottest water safe fdr fabric, then launder Several treatments may be needed to remove the stain. I American Legion | Auxiliary News By Pearl Cooper President Lydia Fenner presided at her last meeting Monday, July 17, at the McHenry American Legion post home The colors were advanced by the sergeant-at- arms, the invocation was given by Chaplain Eleanore Reid, the pledge of allegiance was recited in unison, the "Star Spangled Banner' was sung and the American Legion auxiliary preamble was also recited in unison. Judy Vyduna, Illini Girl's Stater was the special quest and gave a very informative talk and showed the members slides of her stay at Mac- Murray college in Jacksonville in June. She announced that she had received the "Sportsman" award at Girls' State. She was very happy to have been given the opportunity to attend It was announced that a triple installation of Legion, auxiliary and World War I barracks would be held Sunday, Aug. 13, at 4 p m at the Legion post home and that all members and their guests are invited to at­ tend Reservations are needed and should be made by calling the post home at 385-0867 Election of officers was held with the following elected as the officers for 1978 79: President, Mrs Dennis < Grace t Latimer First vice- president.
