(Haug) Heck are making their home in Waukegan following an exchange of vows at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Richmond. The Rev. Thomas Neville officiated at the mid-afternoon nuptial ceremony assisted by the Rev. Paul Cull. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Lorraine Meisinger of Richmond and Lawrence Haug of Park llidge. After a reception in Twin Lakes. Wis., the couple honeymooned in the Bahamas. The bride is a legal secretary at the *aw firm of Hall, Meyer, Fisher, Holmberg, & Snook in Waukegan. Mer bridegroom is employed at the Veteran's Administration hospital in North Chicago. Following dinner, dancing was enjoyed. Senior Citizens Club Present Petition To Move Meeting Place For Seniors A petition to move from the VFW. clubhouse to West campus high school for regular meetings was discussed by the McHenry Senior Citizens club July 24. It will be brought up for further consideration and voted on at the next meeting at the V F W hall Monday, Aug. 14 It is hoped all members will at­ tend to enter into the important discussion One Hundred sixty-four members were in attendance when President Henry Rahn called the McHenry Senior Citizens club meeting to order Monday, July J4, at 7:30 p.m at the V F W hall. , After the , Pledge of Allegiance waS recited a moment of silence was ob­ served for ill members. The minutes of the previous meeuo| \*ere read and ap­ proved A letter was read from the McHenry .Senior Citizens Council regarding the ob­ servation of the one year celebration of the Walk-in centers, inviting our members who wish to attend Three new members were introduced, and received a warm welcome. Bowling Chairman, James Zednik, issued an invitation to come out to the bowling sessions, Tuesdays, 9:30 a m. and 12 30 p.m., and on Fridays at 12:30 p.m. He reports the bowling is going good and hopes to see some of the new mem­ bers attend Mrs Alice Wilke reported the sewing group has donated 966 lap robes. 861 bibs, 93 bed jackets to local nursing homes Recipients of these items were Valley Hi at Hartland Town Hall Estates at Wauconda, Woodstock Residence and Sunset Manor at Woodstock; Crystal Pines and Fair Oaks at Crystal Lake; and Carestoel at McHerirv This sewing group has been very busy, and is doing a very fine service to our community. John Doerr introduced his sister from Chicago, a guest at the meeting and then went into his report The trip to the Fireside restaurant and theater at Fort Atkinson, Wis., Wed­ nesday, Aug 23, has one bus filled, and there is a probability there will be a second bus. The bus will leave the McHenry State bank at 10:30 a m If interested, contact Mrs Giel at once Mr Doerr reported a trip to the House on the Rocks in October; a trip to Shady Lane at Marengo for lunch and a play in October; and the Ice Follies on Nov 15. Mrs. Giel will be taking reservations for these events Mrs Esther Heard reported the annual flower and garden exhibit will be the program for the meeting Monday, Aug. 14, with Mrs Kathryn Wagner and William Wilson as the judges; Bob Lake, soloist, will give the program Aug. 28; and the Union 76 chorus will entertain Sept. 11. One Hundred thirty-five members attended the annual club picnic at Johnsburg Saturday, July 15, and enjoyed a very good time. Mrs. Esther Heard in­ troduced the Keen Agers band from Wauconda who gave the program for the evening. Although happy birthday and happy anniversary had been sung earlier - the Keen Ager band sang a special an­ niversary song for Hildur and Harry Symonds who were celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary today. The executive committee meeting will be Monday, Aug 7, at 3:30 p.m. at Landmark school. Nutrition, Weaning Topic Of League Meet The McHenrv group of La Lecbe League will hold its next meeting on Thursday, Aug 10, at 8 p m The topic for discussion will be "Nutrition and Weaning" Some points to be discussed are: what is good nutrition, nutrition during pregnancy and nursing, when to introduce solid food to baby, what foods to introduce first, and how long should breast­ feeding continue La Leche League is made up ol mothers who have happily nursed their babies, and who wish to offer mother-to-mother help to other women who want to breastfeed their babies The meetings are informal, and babies are always welcome There is also a lending library, with many interesting books on childbirth, breastfeeding, and childrearing. July Nuptials Repeated At Lutheran Rite The commitments of marriage were pledged before the Rev E J Rossow by Kay Bowen and Jeff Blake at Zion Lutheran church, Marengo, Saturday, July 29 Altar bouquets of flowers in peach and white with touches of green graced the altar for the 5 o'clock ceremony Musical selections of the couple were offered by vocalist Darrel Bowen, the brother of the bride The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Bowen of 17709 Meadow lane. Union, and the parents of the bridegroom are Mr and Mrs Wilfred Blake. Sr., of 806 S Lily Lake road, McHenry. The bride made her gown of white satin fashioned with a high neckline and a lace- trimmed yoke featuring pearl buttons from the wedding gown of the bridegroom's grand­ mother, and long illusion, sleeves with deep cuffs Satin- buttons accented the back of- the bodice and the cuffs A wide fabric belt tied at the back and her full skirt fell into a short train Her illusion fingertip veil was held by a lace cap The bride was attended by her sister, Janet Bowen of Oak Park, as maid of honor while bridesmaids included Kathy Konstanzer and Sandy Red- dersdorf, both of Marengo, and Martha Keller of California The attendants were gowned in long dresses with scoop necklines, high waisted belts which tied at the back, short sleeves, and A line skirts The maid of honor was in a peach floral print with the bridesmaids in solid peach Each attendant had made her own outfit McHenry brothers of the bridegroom assisted with Dave Blake handling the duties of best man, and Ron.
