t '}+-- .. SUPERYVISORS VOTE _ NOT TO SELL THE n CO. POOR FARM / as follows: pervisors as a whole, recommended Your committee.after due consider-- ation would recommend that the ot-- fer of the sale of the present County Farm be rejected for the reason that your committee cons'd-- ers the present offer is not suf-- ficient and would be a great loss to the county as the price offered would not justify making a change, The county bhas at a considerabie expense laid a water main and placed fire bydrants, which are connected With the water system of Liberty-- ville and act as an auxiliary to our own water system already installed. It bas also at a considerble ex-- pense widened the ° state: road in front of the farm, adding to the fire protection. The location at Liberty-- ville will furnish better transporta-- tion from all points in the county and is the most centrally located place available. In making & changé it would be necessary to build new barns, tool sheds and other out-- buildings together with an adequate water system for i. protection which is not necessary at the pres-- ent site. LOPCU, 1t PPDIETR PWOW PRROVOWDO CP OCOSTOC to @uplicate all buildings. and im provements now on the eounty farm. It would be necess.zy, the +--mit-- tee considers, to pass a large hond issue to build and equip a suitable set of buildings, if the offer of the gentlemen -- from Libertyville -- were considered. Among. »e farm sites offered, the Bherwood farm at Lake Villa is the ohly. site that could be considéred. Should a farm be purchased at the price wP the Sherwood farm and the county farm sold at the price of-- fered, it would leave about $75,000 Your committee would therefore recommend that the offer of sale be rejected and that no charn'ge be m de in location of the coupty farm The recommendation of the com-- mittee was adopted without a dis senting vote. The loard this afternoon was ex-- pected to pass a resolution calling for a $250,000 bond issue election to provide funds® for the construc-- tion of a new building to replace old buildings mnow occupied 'by the inmates of the county farm.
