I Political Corner Crane Speaks For Citizens Caucus Larry L. Deckerhoff, district director of the Conservative caucus of the 13th Congressional district, an­ nounced that an event of im­ portance to the citizens of this area, will take place Aug. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Wauconda high school. Deckerhoff stated that the Steering committee of the Citizens caucus, composed of thirty-eight prominent local citizens, an offshoot of the Conservative caucus, a national organization with headquarters in Falls Church, Va., is sponsoring a meeting on the above mentioned date and invites everyone who is con­ cerned about "the growing bureaucracy and excess government spending and control", to come to the caucus and hear what citizens can do to effect a change. Featured speaker will be Congressman Philip M. Crane, of the 12th district, who recently announced his decision to run for President of the United States. Crane will speak on the state of the nation's defense, and on the economic status of the country. An explanation of the purpose and goals of the Citizens caucus will be presented, and an in­ vitation to become a member of the caucus will be extended to those present. AUGUST IS. 1971 Director-Curator New To Historical Museum museum in Union will have a full time director-curator. The Historical society board of directors announce the hiring of Mark R. Haggitt of Mem­ phis, Tenrt., for that position. Haggitt is a graduate of Memphis State university with * degree in Art History which involved museum operations. His^xperience includes exhibit work, archaeological surveying and excavation, cataloguing, and restoration. Since 1975 he served as the education coordinator of the Chucalissa museum in Memphis, Tenn., which focused on prehistoric Indians of southeastern United State. He and his wife,Donna, recently moved to Crystal Lake, where they enjoy raising Springer Spaniels. Members and visitors to the museum arc cordially invited to stop in and meet the new director-curator starting this September. MARK R.
