BISHOP HOME IN INGLESIDE - Newlyweds John M. and Deborah S. (Rosenquist) Bishop are making their home in Ingleside, after returning from a honeymoon trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Following the luncheon, a program was presented with Dan Davidson, as master of ceremonies, leading the group in introductions and songs. Laura and Lisbeth Davidson and Suzanne Haack entertained the group with dance routines and David and Suzanne Haack sang for everyone present. JoAnne Davidson and Debra Kruger (oldest grandchild) read original tributes to the couple and Doreen Campagna shared memories from various friends and family and spoke of events which happened forty years ago Diana Kruger presented to her parents a "memory quilt" which she quilted with the assistance of Anna Wilkins and Beatrice Kruger. Each of the family had embroidered squares representing "their thing" as a daughter, son. spouse, or grandchild Following the program, family and friends gathered at the couple's home for dessert and an evening meal CATKLEENPORZEL ROBERT COUGHLIN SET '7* WEDDING - A summer holiday was the occasion for the announcement of the engagement of Cathie en Pond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Porxel of Spring Grave, to Robert Conghlin, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Coughlin of McHenry. Cathie en is a 1«7C graduate of Richmond-Burton high sc hool and to attending classes at McHenry County college to complete her Associate in Science degree. She is employed by a McHenry firm. Bob to a li75 graduate of Marian high school and received his Associate degree- Business Emphasis, from McHenry County college this spring. A June. 197i, wedding is planned. Wonder Lake Seniors Blood Pressure Day Wonder Lake Senior Citizens club has announced that Monday, Aug. 21 is the date of its next meeting, and also is Blood Pressure day. All seniors are invited to take advantage of this service between 11 and 12:30 on Monday. The next regular meeting of the Wonder Lake Senior Citizens club is Aug 21 at l o'clock at the Nativity Lutheran church. The seventy-eight members who met at the Aug. 7 meeting discussed the possibility of another Arlington Park trip Refreshments were served after the regular business meeting Senior Walk-In Outer Meals are served Monday through Friday at the McHenry Walk-In center beginning at 11:45 a.m. Reservations must be made by 1:30 p.m. the day before at 385-8260 The menu for the week of Aug. 21 through Aug 25 is as follows: Aug. 21: Lamb patties, parsley potatoes, new peas & celery, mint jelly, rolls, but terscotch pudding and milk Aug. 22: Beefaroni, carrot & celery sticks, cole slaw- pineapple, rye bread, water­ melon jello and milk. Aug. 23: Liver with onion gravy, cottage cheese. French- cut beans, whole wheat bread, pears and milk. Aug. 24: Turkey slices with celery-nut stuffing & gravy, scalloped vegetables, cran­ berry sauce, rye bread, easy nepoleon and milk. , Aug. 25: Coney dog. caraway sauerkraut, shredded carrots in jello, chocolate cake-white frosting and milk Seniors Vote On Meeting Change President Henry Rahn of the McHenry Senior Citizens club changed normal procedure as he opened the Aug 14 meeting to a discussion of the important issue of a possible move to another location By a vote of the 186 memebers present, all except twenty-one favored a change in the meeting place from the V F W clubhouse to West campus Arrangements will be made for the transfer and when details are completed they will appear in this newspaper In other business. James Zednik invited those interested to bowl Tuesday mornings and afternoons and Friday af­ ternoons He also asked anyone interested in joining the 'Golden Age" league to contact him for further particulars Zednik will be chairman of the committee to make moving arrangements, and will need some volunteers to assist him Mrs Louise Giel is taking reservations for the future events and members are asked to sign up promptly Mrs Wanda Zima expressed appreciation for the ladies' cooperation in providing cakes and asked them to continue volunteering as it saves the committee phone work Mrs Esther Heard, program chairlady, reported the Union 76 chorus will perform Sept 11; Ed McFadden of the McHenry County Sheriff's department will give the program Sept 25; and the Rev Herbert Duenow will give a book review Oct. 9. John Doerr, tour chairman, reported reservations are filled for the Fireside restaurant and theater at Fort Atkinson, Wis., Wednesday. Aug 23, to see "South Pacific". The bus will leave the McHenry State bank parking lot at 10:30 a m He also reported that reservations are filled for the trip to Belleville, to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows. The bus will leave the McHenry Savings & Loan parking lot at 8 a m Sept 6, returning Sept 7 There will be a bus-luncheon trip to "House on the Rock" Wednesday, Oct 4. Reser­ vations should be made with Louise Giel promptly Wednesday, Nov. 15, is the date of the bus trip to the Ice Follies, where good first row seats are reserved. Make reservations promptly. Also, on Dec. 6 there will be a trip to Marengo for lunch and a play at Shady Lane. Happy birthday and Happy anniversary were sung to members celebrating these events. Five new members were welcomed, and encouraged to take an active part in the club The Flower and Garden exhibit was lovely, but there were too few exhibits when one considers the overwhelming displays in past years. Every exhibition received an award ribbon, but if this exhibition is to continue there will have to be more enthusiasm and many more displays. Mrs Kathryn Wagner and William Wilson were the judges, and while they were very pleased with the displays they were disap pointed there were not more to be judged The next meeting of the club will be Monday, Aug. 28. at 7 30 p.m The location of the meeting will be announced if moving arrangements are completed before the time of the next meeting Chirepractor Is LLL Speaker McHenry-Fox Lake La Leche League is sponsoring a talk, "What is Health?" by Dr W R Womer on Aug 23, at 9:30 a m at the Crystal Lake Ambutal (Route 31 off Route 176).
