North & Co., certified public accountants, was given, in which it was stated that it is imperative that a complete set of books, con­ sisting of cash books and ledgers be installed at once. In the auditor's opinion all cash received has been deposited and all disbursements have been in orjier. although not made in all instances from the correct funds He advises that all accounts with ap­ propriations should be detailed sufficiently to permit the ab­ stracting of complete in formation at any time. He also stated that the collector's and ^clerk's records were complete so far as they go. One of the finest and most enjoyable events of the season took place at the McHenry Community high school, at which time the members of the combined orchestras of Crystal Lake and McHenry gave a concert which far exceeded the hopes of their most enthusiastic admirers FORTY YEARS AGO (Taken from the files of December 1, 1938) Two important an­ nouncements have been made by recently elected county officials, who will take over their new duties Dec. 5. The announcements are as to their assistants in two of the major offices of the court house Lester Edinger, elected sheriff of McHenry county for the third time, has named his former chief deputy sheriff, Harold E Reese, as his chief deputy for the next four years. The other important an­ nouncement was made by Frank,C. Daly, who was elected treasurer of McHenry county. He has selected Marcellus Senne, prominent young Republican of Woodstock, to serve as his assistant treasurer for the next four years. Miss Marie Nett of Johnsburg has received a report from Springfield, notifying her that she has passed the State board examinations and is now a full fledged beauty operator Miss Nett received her training under Selan's Beauty system of Chicago.
