The National Association for Human Develop ment (NAHD, 1750 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC, 2006) has more information on specific exercises and how to start a group program anywhere in North America In an extensive report recently made public, NAHD states that regular participants in their "over 60" fitness programs feel better, have more energy, more strength, better use of the body, improved physical conditions, have fewer aches and pains, use less medication and fewer lax atives, visit doctors less, are able to concentrate better, wake up feeling refreshed and rested, breathe more deeply and easily, and have a greater sense of independence. Experts claim that moderate, regular exercise -- taken with a doctor's permission -- can pre vent the onset of premature ag ing by preventing muscular and cardiovascular unfitness. Exer cise can also relieve hyperten sion and hardening of the ar teries Fitness programs also provide an outlet for emotional stress and tension Pyramid Power The ancient Egyptian pyramid of Cheops was begun as a royal tomb in 2600 B.C.
