A business meeting will be followed by the program for the evening which is "Lifesaving Techniques" given by Joanne Heinly. Miss Heinly is an in structor in the nurses training program at Harper college and is a qualified CPR instructor. Last year she came out and gave the CPR course to six members of the club who were then able to administer CPR. She is a very qualified teacher and an interesting speaker so this should be a program no one would want to miss. All Wonder Lake residents are invitedjto this meeting, men and women alike, since it is such a worthwhile program that everyone should know about. Hostesses forjthe evening will be Terry Jakubowski and'Ethel Smith. SENIORS TO MEET The Senior Citizens will be meeting Monday. Jan. 15, beginning at 1 p.m. in Nativity Lutheran church hall. Blood pressures will be taken on that day also, from 11 a.m. until 12T30 p.m. Blood pressures are always taken before the meeting on the third Monday of the month. "In Home Care Under MedicafV' will be the discussion topic for the day. Lydia Germain, president, extends a welcome to all senior citizens of the area to drop in and see what the club is doing. MORE ORGANIZATIONS Last week, I mentioned three clubs from Wonder Lake that you may be interested in ~ joining; so today, I would like to add to that list. The Young At Hearts is a group that meets twice a month on the first and third Wed nesday at 11 a.m. in Christ the King church hall. They are predominately senior citizens, but you do not have to be 65 years old to join. * .Their purpose is solely for a ial get-together. An- ements are made, but e is no real format of a meeting followed. The members take turns bringing the desserts, which are enjoyed with coffee while either visiting or playing cards. Trips are planned periodically throughout the year to be enjoyed by those who are interested At the present time, there is no waiting list for membership , so if you are interested in joining or just in being a guest to see if you might be in terested, stop in at Christ the King church hall any first or third Wednesday. There is a newly formed group for the young men of our community, the Jaycees. under the leadership of John Freund, president. They have recently received their charter fr6m the national organization and will be having a dinner-dance in February as their formal beginning, at which time the officers will be installed. Along with Mr. Freund as president. Frank Martin is vice president, and Dennis Murphy is the secretary. v To be an active voting member of the group, you must be between the ages of 18 and 36 years, although Mr. Freund tells me that many members stay in past 36 as inactive members The purpose of the Jaycees is individual growth along with contribution to the community The idea behind this organization is to build young leaders. At this time, there are twenty members who meet at Jamie and company the first Monday of the month at 8 p.m. A membership drive is under way. so if you are interested in this organization, give John Freund a call at 728-0235. The matter of delinquent water bills was brought up and they are slowly paid. "Groceries At Your Door" is the inscription on the side of the huge white truck owned and driven by Arthur Smith, who has launched out for himself in this new and novel enterprise. The inscription explains itself for it is a full and complete line of groceries as well as fresh fruits and vegetables that Art, as he is commonly known, drives around to your door at any time most convenient for you. The large Chevrolet truck is a veritable grocery store on wheels and holds a large supply of the best brands of goods. FORTY YEARS AGO (Taken from the files of January 19, 1939) Joseph Regner. well known proprietor of Regner's Market on Green street, recently completed construction of a sausage plant beneath his garage, which is located in back of the store.
