I ? vir Lakemoor-Lilymoor Margaret Karas 385-4934 Conservation Club Plans En/oyable„ Valentine Party Members and friends of the Lily take Conservation club are planning an enjoyable Valentine's party on Feb. 10 at the Moose hall on Route 120. Mike Nejedly is the coordinator of the affair, which will be a fun evening. Conservationists, and even persons who could care less about Lily Lake preser vation, can join in the festivities. Tickets may be purchased from Mike or other members of the club. The L.L.C.C.I. met Jan. 10 on its regular meeting night, the second Wednesday of the month, at the Lakemoor municipal building. The club appreciates being able to use Lakemoor's pleasant Upstairs meeting room. An office in Pritzsche Industrial park had been used the past four meetings, and that was also appreciated. Officers and board members will be vot "d on at the next scheduled 'meeting, Feb. 14. I would appreciate hearing from members and people wishing to help return Lily Lake to a healthy recreational area, with names of persons willing to serve. Call Margaret at 385-4934 with suggestions and-or help. Lily Lake will be a source of great pleasure with the cooperation of everyone surrounding it. Get in the swim, so we will have a place to! JOYOUS WEDDING Congratulations to Cy Young on his marriage on Jan. 6 to Mildred Kennedy of Fox Lake. The Youngs and Kennedys had been friends, for many years, being members of the Friend ship club at the Methodist church. After both lost their spouses, Cy and Mildred's friendship continued, and they are now looking towards the future together. May you have health and great adventure, Mr. and Mrs. Young, here or wherever your path will take you. LAKEMOOR REMINDERS Certificates for the nomination of candidates for office with the village of Lakemoor are now available at the village office. Last date for filing for the positions of village clerk (a two-year term) and four trustees (one for a two- year term and three for four year terms) is Feb. 12. The nomination papers may be picked up at the village office on Monday evenings from 6 to 9; or call Pat Morrison, village clerk, and she will make provisions for pick-up at her home. Any persons filing for nomination and having a change of plans, may withdraw up to Feb. 17. The election in April means it will be necessary to be a registered voter before March 19 in order to vote. Change of address or name requires a new registration. This can also be done at the village hall on Mondays, from 6 to 9, or call Pat at 385-1117 foe other arrangements. Vehicle stickers and dog tags are also available at the same time and place. ICE AGE, 1979 Arthur Lund is another victim of the icy conditions. He fell on Jan. 9 and broke his ankle in three places, which made a hospital stay man datory. It is almost impossible to go out in this weather and not lose one's footing some place. Broken ankles, especially in three places, do seem un necessary. Right, Arthur? A record has almost been set this month. There have been ten consecutive days of below zero weather, matching the previous record. Happy that it was not continued as of Jan. 12. With the cold, and now the added snow, all of us must be very cautious to avoid falling. GRANDMOTHER AWARD . Wanda Minton became a grandmother on Dec. 28, when daughter Brenda gave birth to Shane at the McHenry hospital. Shane's proud father is Delbert Coss of Wonder Lake. A boy in ? the family will be a new ex perience, as Wanda's children are all girls. May Shane bring you all much joy. NATAL DAY NOTICES Many birthdays are recognized this week. Danny Weber celebrates the seven teenth, and Wanda Minton, one of our newest grandmothers, has her day the eighteenth. Jan. 19 is the important date for Philip Sovsky, and Ann Krawczyk's is the twentieth.. Allen Povidas and Bill Koeher share the twenty-first, with F l o r e n c e M a r t e n s o n celebrating the twenty-third. Happiness, with an exciting new year ahead, is wished for everyone with a birthday in January. Harold Nixon called, saying he has already lived through his sixty-seventh year, and is now working on his sixty- eighth. Sorry, Harold; arith metic was never my A subject. . , t COMMUNITY CALENDAR Feb. 3. - Hilltop Parents organization - Fun Fair at Hilltop school - 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 10 - Valentine dinner- dance - Moose Lodge - Lily Lake Conservation club, Inc. - Tickets: Call Mike Nejedly, 385-2517.
