/ SECTION 2-PAGE3- PLAINDEALER - WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 17. 1979 Johnsburg Mary L. Gunderson 385-3052 Many Attend Dedication Of High School The program opened in the Auditorium at 2:30p.m., with a musical prelude by Johnsburg high school music department. i Father Leo Bartel, St. John's gave the invocation. An in spiring national anthem by the school concert band was next. - Dr. Duane Andreas, then introduced the honored plat form guests. Building presentation was made by Dr. Kenneth Falkinham, with Mr. Fred Matthews, Mr. Harry Tyda and Mr. Donald Hen derson. Acceptance of building was made by Charles Bofek, president of the board of education with Bobbie Hart and Judy Vyduna, Johnsburg high school Student Council president. Closing remarks were made by Bill Hayes, principal. Musical selections by the Johnsburg high school music department were followed by the benediction, given by Reverend Mitchell Considine, pastor of Chain-O-Lakes Evangelical Covenant church. Robert Gough, assistant principal, then outlined the open house orientation. Open House assistance was provided by students, teachers, and the P.T.O. The program included a map of the school interior for the convenience of those interested in "seeing" and touring the various areas: gym, cafeteria, industrial arts department, home economics, business, special ed, administration offices, etc. There were many comments on the "openness" of the various deaprtments. Much ground work was done in educational planning, as well as construction in the beginning to insure a successful, practical and adaptable structure. We sincerely hope that students will make use of all opportunities to obtain their full potential. They have a tremendous responsibility to replace us in making our world a better place for all future people of our country. Refreshments of punch and coffee were offered in the cafeteria. The language classes made various Spanish desserts; French class, dainty cream puffs and apple crepes. Home economics students made cookies, as their share in the "palate-teasing" choices offered; and the P.T.O. took care of the decorations in the cafeteria and served many tasty home-baked cakes.
