Set Dairy Goat Seminar The McHenry County Cooperative Extension service, as well as the interested McHenry County Goat Breeders, will be sponsoring a Dairy Goat seminar Thursday, Jan. 25, at 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Farm Bureau seminar. The seminar is designed to inform 4-H'ers and other in terested people about feeding, housing and management of dairy goats. Showing will also be discussed as well as veterinary aspects, different breeds and artifical in- semenation. The areas to be discussed are thought to be of particular in terest to people who are in terested in owning goats or for the current producers. A question and answer session will follow each discussion so you will be able to get most any question answered. The backfills at both bridges had been made and the long stretch between the two bridges, about 750 feet in - length, had been covered with gravel. Friends of Harry B. Frye, formerly of this city, will be glad to learn of his ad vancement in the newspaper world. He has recently been made a member of the firm of the Berwyn Beacon, a weekly newspaper published at Ber- wyn, 111. He will have the capacity of manager and will take full charge of the printing and of the business and will endeavor to give the best work and the best service possible to those who have printing needs. Wallace Woodburn, who recently sold the Central Market in McHenry to George Schreiner, has accepted the position of manager at the Shinner Market in Woodstock. FORTY YEARS AGO (Taken from the files of January 26, 1939) St. Peter's parish at Spring Grove has not always possessed a church, rich in the grandeur of modern con struction and architecture. Today there is a change. In-- fluenced somewhat by older parishioners who sacrificed much to erect and maintain their church, and also by a fast growing number of summer visitors who have grown to love the mellow warmth of the little old church, the parish gave little thought to the erection of a new building. Instead, they have improved the old church in a manner that has enchanced its beauty to an admirable degree. Rev. John Daleiden is the pastor.
