STATE BANK OF RICHMOND MM-hiIMT F.I).I.C.. If the tax bite was heavy this year, why not plan now to save up to $300 next year? You have to spend money, but your investment will bring long- range returns beyond the original expenditure. The Energy Tax Act, signed by President Carter last November, allows a 15% tax credit on energy conservation spending from $67 to $2,000. For example, if you spend $500 on storm windows, you can take credit for 15% of the cost, $75, and deduct it from what you owe this time next year. The minimum 'allowable credit is $10, so even if you spend only $67 you will save $10 at tax time. The energy conser vation improvements must be made before the end of 1985. If you need information on financing such a project, see one of our officers. 'When they advise you on ;home improvement loans *. . . you can BANK on it!
