#***«?/' Johnsburg Girls Win Eight Places In Track Meet With Grayslake And Grant High The Johnsburg girls' track team received eight places for a total of 20 points at a meet with Grayslake and Grant High School on Friday. Cheri Kofler received a first place for her long jump, and Sue Moulis scored first place in the 880 yard run. Woodstock won Saturday's McHenry County meet with a total of 134 points. Johnsburg scored 17 points competing against 11 schools. Kofler placed third in the long jump, fourth in the 220 meter run, and fourth in the 100 meter run. Moulis placed fourth in the 1600 meter run. Antioch Nips Sophs In Triangufar Meet NEW RECORD-With a time of 1:56.8, the above girls of the McHenry Track team set a new record in the 880 Medley Relay at the county meet in Woodstock last Saturday. Carrie broke her own mark in the 440 yd. dash when she was timed in 61.5. She also won the 220 in 27.5 Woodstock won the meet with 134 points followed by Crystal Lake South with 85. The Warriors % had 68, Marengo 38, Hebron 36 Jacobs 34.5, Marian Central 34, Huntley, 25.5, Johnsburg 17, and Richmond failed to score. Skyhawk Nine Wins 6-3 From Marian, Lose To Pecatonica 3-1 The Johnsburg Skyhawk baseball squad was scheduled to host Beloit Catholic in a Shark Conference game Monday afternoon at Tigers Field. The Skyhawks had a 1-5 record going into that game. Last Thursday Johnsburg lost to Pecatonica near Rock- ford in a 3-1 contest. Don Bentz pitched for four innings and then changed positions with catcher-pitcher Kurt Valentin. Bentz scored Johnsburg's only run in the seventh inning after reaching base on a single and advancing on a steal and later a throwing error. Bentz was two for three at the plate. He doubled in the fourth inning. Valentin and Jim Boelens also batted singles during the game. The Pecatonica Indians scored all three runs in the fifth inning when Woolbright and Dietmeier both hit home runs and Mitchell scored after reaching base on a double. The day before, Johnsburg defeated Marian Central 6 to 3 in a non-conference game. Skyhawk shortstop Keith Suratt scored twice for John­ sburg and went 3 for 4 from the plate, hitting doubles in the first and second innings. Bentz smacked a long triple in the first inning and went 1 for 2 from the batter's box. Thursday the Skyhawks travel to Harvard for a 4:30 p.m. game. Friday Johnsburg hosts Richmond at Tigers field at the same time. Saturday Johnsburg hosts a double header with Winnebago beginning at 10:30a.m. McHenry Hosts 14th Annual Relays Friday The 14th Annual McHenry Relays will take place Friday night at McCracken field. Field events will get under way at 3:30 p.m with the running events beginning at 5 p.m. Seventeen schools will take part in the meet and it should be a dogfight between Naperville North, St. Charles, Kaneland, Elk Grove, and Hoffman Estates. Other schools along with host McHenry are Lake Forest, Crown, Woodstock, Belvidere, Crystal Lake South, Crystakl Lake Central, Dundee, Lake Park, Cary Grove, Rochelle and Marengo.
