Luncheon Out For UMW Circle When the Marcia Mary Ball circle met for its May meeting the members decided they would like to have their annual "Luncheon out" at the Rustic Harbor restaurant. This annual event is scheduled for Tuesday, June 5, at noon, and all members and their guests will meet at the restaurant. For further in­ formation, or to make reser­ vations, contact Lyda Radisch. The members also discussed the annual circle picnic which is scheduled to be held at Petersen park at noon on Tuesday, July 17. This will be a catered picnic, as it was last year, and circle members and their guests are assured of a very delicious dinner and an afternoon of fun and fellowship. The usual "White Elephant" sale will be featured, which is always a source of en­ tertainment and fun. All should start accumulating "white elephants" to make the sale a good one. The May meeting was well attended, with Mary Dobbins and Lyda Radisch as the hostesses. St. Paul's Episcopal church in McHenry was the setting for this club activity. Prior to the installation, members enjoyed a delicious potluck dinner. The culinary talents of those at­ tending was evident in the delightful array at the buffet table. One of the newest members of the organization, Sharon Earley, created the beautiful dessert cake. After the dinner, President Shari Weakman called the meeting to order and greeted members and guests. At that time, all those present joined Mrs. Weakman in paying tribute to Social Chairman Marily Bisiewicz for her tenure on the board. Mrs. Bisiewicz commented on the very suc­ cessful "rebated" couple's dinner held recently at Crescent Bay Landing. Mrs. Bisiewicz then introduced Paula Ekstrom who will be her successor on the board. Both chairmen explained plans for the Ladies' Luncheon which will be held Tuesday, June 19, at noon at the Old Court House Inn in Woodstock. This date was chosen so that members from Johnsburg and McHenry would be able to employ teenagers for babysitting. Mrs. Ekstrom also announced that tentative plans have been made for a couples' "Steak Fry" to be held as a summer social event. Mrs. Bisiewicz then asked Nancy John, chairman of the "gourmet group", to explain the workings of this special interest group. Mrs. John urged members and guests to contact her for information on joining. At the conclusion of the Shari Weakman and members of the retiring board were recognized by the membership for their achievements during 1978-79. Then Mrs. Weakman passed the gavel to the newly elected president, Sheila Aleckson. LOWV Seminar Delegates Speak At Annual Luncheon Local delegates to the Illinois Legislative seminar and the state convention of the League of Women Voters of Illinois will be the featured speakers at the league's annual meeting and luncheon to be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 24, at the Wedgewood Inn in Richmond.
