Johnsburg Booster Club Sponsors Fund Raising Run The Johnsburg Junior high Booster club is sponsoring a Jog-A-Thon, Saturday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., to raise money for the Booster club athletic program and to give 10 percent to the U.S. Olympic committee. Coordinator Bruce Harbecke said participation is limited to people living in the Johnsburg school district. Runners are limited to ten miles, following a two-mile course through the Johnsburg area. Refreshments available at the Johnsburg community club will be hot dogs, chips and drinks. For information, and to offer your pledges for runners, call Bruce Harbecke at the Junior high.Some of the Booster club projects are the furnishing of the 6th, 7th and 8th grade basketball team uniforms, girls softball and track sweat suits, for the school year, and the popcorn machine, which you see at all the various functions. RESCUE SQUAD DINNER We hope you were there. The spaghetti was excellent, as well as the rest of the meal. This benefitted the building fund. We were able to purchase quart containers of the sauce, too, for future use. It was pleasant to .see the young ladies and gentlemen, who so efficiently served the guests, keeping the tables ready for the next folks. Turnout was good and we hope the end results were too. JOHN'S CEMETERY A cleanup and "facelift" took place through the fine efforts of many kind gentlemen volun teers on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, May 21, 22 and 23. As a result of our long, long winter, and all that snow, as in each of our own yards, much work was needed. It now presents a neater, fresher and cleaner appearance to its many visitors. Hansen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Hansen, 2104 W. Mill lane, and a 1967 graduate of McHenry high school, earned the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine on May 12 from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Dr. Hansen also holds a bachelor's and a master's degree from Drake university, Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Hansen, who is associated with Dr. Henry Fairleigh, now lives in Louisville, Ky., with his wife, Bobbi, and their eighteen- month old son, Jeff Alan. Scholarship Of $250 For Gary White Gary White of McHenry hafe been awarded the Arthur Young & Co. scholarship in the amount of $250 for his out standing performance as ac countancy major at Northern Illinois university. HEAD DOUGHNUT DAY Mrs. Charles Jacobson and Mrs. Ed Dudziak of Wonder Lake will serve as co-chairmen for the Salvation Army's Doughnut day June 1 in the Wonder Lake-Ringwood area. The Social Ministry of Nativity Lutheran church and Christ the King Catholic church have adopted Doughnut day as an official club project. There will be good supplies of all beef cuts in the meat case all year long. Per capita supplies of beef for 1979 are anticipated at 113 pounds (carcass weight basis).
