However, people who are diabetic-or related to someone who is diabetic-may be uneasy about what to prepare to please both the diabetic and other company. Memorial hospital for McHenry county dietitians may have the answer! The answer may be found at a luncheon for diabetics, planned by the dietary department at the hospital on July 11 at lp.m. Diabetics are invited to make a reservation by calling the hospital at 338-2500, extension 256. A small fee per person is included in the luncheon and one family member may at tend. Persons attending will enjoy a meal prepared for them and they will also select foods ac cording to tl)eir diet prescription. Each diabetic must bring his diet prescription and meal guide and choose accordingly. Guidance and accuracy will be assessed by the hospital dietitian. Recipes will be available. The luncheon will be followed by a discussion and question period. Deaths HELEN M. PLAZEWSKI Helen M. Plazewski, 66, of 4005 Lillian, McHenry, and formerly of Richmond, died Monday, June 25, at Woodstock Memorial hospital. She was born April 19, 1913 in Stanley, North Dakota, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Grogan, and married Edward Plazewski Feb. 6,1937, in Chicago. She was a member of St. Joseph's parish. She is survived by her husband, Edward; three daughters, Irene Plazewski of McHenry. Mrs. Robert (Joanne) Yoho of Wauconda, and Barbara Plazewski of Crystal Lake; two sons, Robert of Elgin and James of Genoa City; and nine grandchildren. Visitation was scheduled for ^Tuesday at Ehorn-Adams leral horhe, with Rosary to be\ecited/flt 8 p.m. Mass will be offered 10:30 a.m. Wed nesday at St. Joseph's, Rich mond, celebrated by Father Thomas Neville. Interment will be in St. Joseph's cemetery. ARTHUR M. KLEIN Arthur M. Klein, 70, of 603 Jefferson court, Ingleside, died June 22 at St. Therese hospital. He was bom March 7,1909, in Spring Grove, the son of Joseph and Catherine Klein, and lived in the area all of his life. The deceased was a member of St. Bede s Catholic church, a charter member of K. of C. St. Bede Council, of which he was a fourth degree member; a charter member of the Fox Lake Lions club; a trustee of the village of Fox Lake from 1951 to 1955; a member of the Johnsburg community club and of the Catholic Order of Foresters-, ,an4 a .member of the AARP. Mr. Klein owned and operated Fox Motors Kaiser- Fraiser dealer in Fox Lake from 1946 to 1956. He was proprietor of Art Klein's Auto Service until his retirement in 1974. Hamsher funeral home. Masses would be ap preciated. RENCE L. KEEL Rence L. Keel, 52, of 125 Nippersink, Fox Lake, father of Michael Keel, McHenry, died June 23, at St. Therese hospital, Waukegan. He was born April 10, 1927, at Water Valley, Mississippi, and has been a resident of Fox Lake for 14 years. He formerly resided in Chicago, was em ployed as a carpenter and worked for Danley Lumber company. The deceased was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Rising Sun Lodge 115 AF & AM of Grayslake; a member of the Medina Temple,. Chicago; a member of the Lake county Shrine club; and belonged to VFW Post 6870, Chicago. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Powell, with whom he would have celebrated twenty-five years June 26; by one son, Michael of McHenry; a daughter Christine, at home; a sister, Mary Pritchard, Chicago; two brothers, Rayford (Dorothy) Keel of Lake Villa and James (Wanda) Keel of St. Louis, Mo.; and numerous other relatives and friends. The 22-year-old son of Donald and Barb (Schmitt) Wagner of Eagle River, Wis., formerly of Spring Grove, was electrocuted in an accident near his home June 13. Friencs and relatives are invited to attend, and fellowship will follow in the school hall. In a large skillet over low heat, fry bacon until almost crisp. Discard all but 3 tablespoons drippings. To the remaining drippings and bacon, add onion and rice and fry until both are slightly browned. Stir in 2 cups water and 1 teaspoon seasoned salt. Simmer, cov ered, about 15 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid ab sorbed. Cool, cover and refrig erate. About 1 hour and 10 mi nutes before serving: Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees F. Sprinkle each fryer-half with '/« teaspoon seasoned salt, a little pepper and paprika. skin side down in shal low roasting pan. Heap rice and bacon stuffing into the hollow of each fryer half. Combine margarine and chili sauce and spoon over stuffing. Bake 1 hour or until chicken is fork-tender. Illinois Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) last week commented on the U.S. Supreme Court decision to bar Frances B. Davis from entering a North Carolina nursing school because of her hearing im pairment. "If such a decision sets a precedent," Jeffers said, "handicapped persons will have a whole lot tougher times pursuing career goals."
