Final committee assignments will be made along with completion of plans for the golf outing Aug. 10. All members are urged to attend. Last week, the Planning commission for the Village of Prairie Grove approved the request of Brittany Builders Inc., for construction of 55 single family dwellings on one acre estates in an area known as the Springs. Potential price range of these units will be from between $80,000^120,000 and will consist of 2,400 square feet per unit. This development is scheduled to start in the Spring of 1980 and require two years for completion. Plan Commission Chairman Dick Meyers said the com mission's recommendation now goes to the president and board of trustees for final action. In other business, the Plan commission will begin im mediately some major amendments or consideration of amendments to the village subdivision control ordinance. Discussions between Village President Dave Masters, Village Attorney John Murphy and Meyers have pointed out the need for amendments to the ordinance. - In a letter to President Masters, dated July 2, Attorney Murphy stated "Prairie Grove sets out a flat fee schedule. A section of the Country Club Hills ordinance has a simple $50 administrative fee but also requires "that the developer pay for the actual cost incurred by the city for attorney's fees, planning or other consultants' fees that are directly and reasonably atributable to the review analysis or drafting of documents in connection with the developers' submission of preliminary and final plats". Meyers said there are other areas that also need looking into regarding the subdivision control ordinance and that the commission would be ad-< dressing itself to these prior to the August meeting of the commission. Finance Chairman Ron Price expressed interest in securing information regarding federal aid programs to villages, particularly in the area of conservation. Meyers men tioned that Congressman Bob McClory has just forwarded a copy of the 1979 Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance to McHenry County Board Chairman Dick Klemm and that this report contains the latest up-to-date information on the types of federal funds that are available along with examples of some funded projects and the procedures for applying. Meyers said Klemm's office should be contacted and arrangements made for Price to examine the catalog. Chairman Meyers asked County Building Ordinance Chairman Glenn Peterson to consider drafting by-laws for the Plan commission since he was not aware that any exist now. "It is true enough, that we use Roberts Rules of Order for any business we must conduct in the absence of more specific procedures, but we should have some definite procedures and by-laws set up under which the commission operates," Meyers said. * Drug Abuse Study The Illinois Dangerous Drugs Commission (IDDC) and the Illinois Dangerous Drugs Advisory Council (IDDAC) announced last week the creation of a task force to study and make recommendations for legislation and regulation of the control of prescription drug abuse, according to Thomas B. Kirkpatrick, Jr., Director of IDDC. The task force will review existing laws, Kirk patrick said, and will set professional standards and disciplinary regulation of unscrupulous medical prac titioners, and evaluate the need of increased controls of manufacture and distribution of drugs.
