Lakemoor-Lilymoor Margaret Karas 385-4934 Good Junque Required For \ Lily Lake Fund The Lily Lake Conservation club's plans for the "on-going" rummage sale were discussed at the meeting held Aug. 8 at the Lakemoor municipal building. The sale will be held two weekends, Aug. 18, 19, 25 and 26, at Vickie DeStephano's garage on Route 120, Lilymoor, west of the Longhorn. Workers are needed for any time during the four days, plus pricers, setter-uppers and taker- downers. Call 385-4934 for scheduling time or donations. Jerry Weber's truck is available for hauling. Donations priced by the givers would save a great deal of time for the workers. Lily Lake needs your help. HAPPY EVENT Mrs'. Marie Hyatt of Lakemoor, has become a great grandmother again, with the birth of baby boy Hyatt in Aurora, on Aug. 8. This is the fourth child of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hyatt, Jr., making the family evenly divided with two boys and two girls. Mrs. Hyatt is awaiting another great grandchild this week. Mrs. Scott Schulz, Mrs. Hyatt's granddaughter, is expecting her third child in Germany, Mrs. Hyatt, who is recuperating from a hospital stay, now has either fifteen or sixteen great grandchildren to add to her happiness. SADNESS Louis Schueller, a 26 year resident of Lilymoor, died Aug. 7 in the McHenry hospital, leaving his devoted LaVerne, two daughters, Carole Priller of Carmel, Ind., and Janice Justen of McHenry, and four grandchildren. His brother Henry, (Bud) of Lakemoor and two sisters also survive. Louis has been ill for some time. His wife, LaVerne, whom he married in Iowa 39 years ago, has truly been a "help mate" these years. Louie will be sorely missed by many, and our sympathy is extended to his lpy^d ones. f HUbFri'ALNUTKS" Wanda Minton's grand daughter, three year old Lisa, has had eye surgery at the Memorial hospital. Lisa, Sherri's daughter, will have a condition existing since birth, corrected. Wanda says Lisa is an exact replica of Sherri when she was three. If Lisa has Sherri's vivaciousness and determination, all will be well. MONSTER PICNIC The members of the "Monster Reading club" sponsored by the McHenry Nunda library will be enjoying a picnic at the library on Lily Lake road on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. All children registered for the summer reading program are invited for fun, games and refresh ments. Geri Smith and Susan Brindise, library board trustees, have been helping the librarian, Margaret Karas, With the party plans. MCHENRY HEARING AID NEW HOURS! LONG ALERT The first Tuesday of every month is the date for emergency alarm system testing, to make sure that all fire stations and other emergency units are in working order. Last Tuesday, Auj;. 7, was unnerving for all,of us, when the fire station alaffa was turned on with a straight high E note, and continued at the same pitch for almost 15 minutes. All kinds of disaster pictures came to mind, but a call to Irene Thornton explained away the fears. Remember first Tuesdays, when the alarms go off for practice, in order to make perfect. BIRTHDAY TIME Today, Aug. 15, is Philip Mieszala's birthday, so perhaps he will take a day off from driving his big truck. Billie Nejedly, Mike's wife, celebrates her day the seventeenth. Two grand mothers, Marion Leske, the antique doll-maker, and Irene Thornton, who does such beautiful knitting and crocheting, share the twen tieth. Another Nejedly, this time Barbara, celebrates on the twenty-first. May the coming year be a joyous time for all birthday people. ACCIDENT TIME Alyce Kowal learned a lesson. An operating fan is not the place to put a finger! It did happen, as things often do even when we know better. Alyce's finger is healing, but it was very painful. Barb Mieszala of Lilymoor had a problem, too. She was stung near her eye by a wasp, Very painful, and also resulted in a strange looking face. Wasp and bee stings can be very serious, as Barb discovered. Missy MUmma has her foot in a cast, the result of getting it caught in the spokes of. a bicycle. Stephen was giving his little sister a ride when the accident happened. It will be several weeks before it is determined whether there is a broken bone, so Missy is again doing a bit of crawling, under Stephen's watchful eyes. This should be a reminder to all cyclists to be aware of the danger of catching feet of riders in the spokes of the bicycle wheels, PRAISE THE LORD TIME A1 Dernber, Sr., came to the rescue of the Lily Lake Con servation club's latest in surance payment with a generous donation, exactly $1 more than Mr. Lee gave a year ago. Now for next months' premium: is there someone to top Al's donation by $1? COMMUNITY EVENTS Aug. 18, 19. 25 and 26 Rummage sale. Benefit Lily Lake. Donations needed. Call 385-8263 or 385-4934.
