Aug. 31, Sept. 7 & 14, 1979) Legal Notice IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF THE 19TH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS PROBATE DIVISION IN THE MATTER OF THE ESTATE OF JOHN KROPIK, Deceased 79-P-284 Bani-i on it! Pre*enled b\ STATE BANK OF ' RICHMOND member F.D.I.C.. im-iiilx-r t-.II.M.. To really understand the fluctuations in interest rates it is necessary to view money more as a com modity than as a medium of exchange. When there is a high demand for wheat, prices go up accordingly. So it is with money. When a large number of borrowers are seeking funds from banks the money supply tightens. There is less available. Banks pay a higher rate for their money and have to charge a higher rate of interest. At some point on the economic scale these in creased rates cause the demand for money to drop. Supply slowly catches up with demand and the rates begin to go downward. This supply and demand cycle is the basic factor determining overall interest rate fluctuation. Other factors affecting interest include inflation, credit worthiness of the individual or business and the term of the particular loan. Remember, whatever the interest rate, never borrow unless you have a good reason. Eliminating unneccesary borrowing will help keep the rates down for everyone.
