They are Candace Johnson, her grandmother, Corrlne Stigllch; and Bale Krause. The Alliance church of McHenry held a baptismal service Oct. 28 in the evening service. Those baptized were Candace Johnson, Corrine Stiglich and Dale Krause. The baptism was held directly following the message of the evening by Pastor Robertson. A testimony of their faith in Jesus Christ was given by each one baptized. Following the service, a time of fellowship was held in the church basement. A "slave auction" was held whereby the young people of the church offered their services to the congregation to raise money for supplying reading materials to the county jail. It was an ex citing time as bids went as high at $20. Sunday school at the church, located at 3815 Bull Valley road, McHenry, is at 9:45 a.m. and worship services are at 11 a.m.'and 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome. ' The Rainbow Ramblers' next dance is scheduled for Nov. 11. All square and round dancers are invited to attend. The dance will be held at the Robert Crown school, located on Bonner road, north of Wauconda, Sunday, Nov. 11, beginning at 6:45 p.m. with a half-hour round dance teach, followed by square and round dancing at 7:15 p.m. Set Craft-Gift Show Church Slates Dinner, Bazaar The Ringwood church annual roast beef dinner will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, with serving at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. Some tickets will be sold at the door, but advance ticket sales are preferred. Contact Mrs. Art Christopher, Mrs. Paul Walkington or Mrs. Walter Low. The bazaar will open at 3 p.m. in the fellowship room of the church. Homemade candies and gift items will appeal to early Christmas shoppers. The seventh Holiday Craft and Gift show will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 23 through the 25, in the Exhibit hall at Wisconsin State Fair park, Milwaukee. Participation is open to any craftspeople 18 years or older who exhibit work of original concept, design and execution. No commercial molds, kits or manufactured artwork allowed. Craftspeople wishing to participate should send five slides or photographs, name, media and siie of work clearly printed on the back of each slide or photograph. On Nov. 9, Church Women United in Lake Region will celebrate World Community day with a worship service on the theme, "Causeway: This Community, USA." The service will be held at St. Thomas church, Oak street and Route 176 in Crystal Lake, and begins at 9:30 a.m. Mrs. Alfred Seiling, past president of CWU, will be the featured speaker. She participated in an Urban Causeway last year. The World Community day celebration will highlight the findings of the Church Women United Urban Causeway which took place in the spring of 1978. At that time, sixty-five women traveled in three teams to sixteen major metropolitan areas studying the impact on urban dwellers of six issues: education, employment, h e a l t h - m e d i c a l c a r e , housing, transportation and welfare. The celebrants will con sider how those issues affect "this community USA". World Community day began in 1943 as a nationwide observance concerned with the possibilities of an en during peace. The emphasis on this day is responsible for corporate action for justice ana peace. There will also be a short business meeting to elect officers duHng the fellowship hour. Rita Parrish is the chairman for the day. As usual, there will be a babysitter provided.
