(Photo by Rick Martin) Fine Arts To Feature Pianist In Fall Concert The Woodstock Fine Arts Creative Living series will present the American pianist, Arthur Tollefson, Nov. 15 in the Opera House at 10 a.m. Holder of the first Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano ever awarded by Stanford university, Arthur Tollefson, now in his mid- thirites, has already earned an enviable international reputation, both as a per­ former and teacher. During the past decade, he has combined extensive concert solo engagements with critically acclaimed recital debuts in Washington, Chicago New York and London. In ad­ dition to his frequent in­ ternational radio-television recording sessions, he has given master classes in conjunction with the Ravinia festival, summer home of the Chicago Symphony orchestra, joined the prestigious Steinway Artist Roster, received grants from the University of Maryland and the National Endowment for the Humanities and has been elected to numerous national and international Who's Whos. A former "Outstanding Eductor in America," Tollefson is extremely active in the Music Teachers National association, ap­ pearing as guest convention artist for several major state organizations, and currently serves as national vice- president of the College Music society. A frequent contributor to leading music journals, Arthur Tollefson is much in demand for lecture-recitals, master classes and ad­ judication in conjunction Sunnyside Area Betty Messer 344*2494 with his recital and concert appearances. This past summer he made his first professional recordings and embarked on a forty-five day concert cruise to Scandinavia, the Baltic and Russia, atoard the Norwegian American Lines, M.S. Sagafjord. California, Here / Come This is the song police officer Goerge Davie and his family will be singing the week-end of Nov. 17. Officer Davie has sold his home and is moving with his family to California. The village is sad to lose such a fine officer. George has been with the Sunnyside police dept. for almost two years and has been in police work for the past several years. We'll miss him, and hope he thinks of his friends back here in Sunnyside this winter. While we're shoveling snow, George will be basking in. the warm Calif, sun. VILLAGE MEETING The regular monthly meeting of the village of Sunnyside was held Tuesday Nov. 6, at the Johnsburg jr. high. President Nolan accepted the resignation of treasurer, Elmer Pflug, and the village attorney, Eton Truckenbrod, swore in the hew treasurer, Kathy Rogers. Mrs. Rogers was appointed by president Nolan since the treasurer is not an elected officer. , The president also ac­ cepted Mr. Fred Alaimo as plumbing inspector for the village. The board approved this appointment, since the state now requires the in­ spector to be a licensed plumber. Mr. Alaimo is replacing long time plumbing inspector, Mr. Greg Nowak. The board approved a snow removal contract and Paul May & Sons will again be doing the village plowing this winter: Also approved at this meeting was a new or­ dinance prohibiting parking on the street between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. A copy of this ordinance is in publication in the legal section of this paper. CUB SCOUT PACK 454 Cub Scout Pack 454 will be holding a bake sale this coming week-end at the McHenry State bank Saturday Nov. 17, in the lobby. Funds from this sale will enable the troop to buy necessary items. Help support the scounts and buy lots of baked goods.
