JANUARY 11 Ringwood News 385-8037 653-9262 728-0343 Classes Begin Confirmation classes will begin Thursday, Jan. 17, at the Greenwood United Methodist chjirch at 3:30 p.m. These classes are for youth from both the Ringwood and Greenwood parishes who are in the sixth grade or older: Parents are encouraged to take part in the first session. ECUMENICAL SERVICES "Christian Unity for 1980" is the theme for Ecumenical services to be held in January for people of all faiths. There will be two services- Friday, Jan. 18, 8 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal church and Friday, Jan. 25, 8 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic church. Reverend Segin will participate in the service in St. Patrick's. UNICEF COLLECTION yA letter of appreciation has been received from UNICEF, reporting that the collection made by Greenwood-Ringwood Ark schools and U.M.Y. totaled $210.00. The youth and children appreciate the support given this project. U M Y. TO MEET Members of U.M.Y. will meet at the Ringwood church Sunday evening, Jan. 13, at 4 p.m. If the weather permits sufficient snow, it is planned to have a "tubeing" party. ABOUTTOWN Sue Erwin traveled to Dubuque. la. New Year's day to pick up daughters, Donna Lynn and Marcy. They went home with Aunt Linda and Uncle Bill the day after Christmas to spend the holidays. Linda and Bill Billikas and Nicky, Charlie and Becky arrived at the Low's Christmas eve. It was a pleasant surprise as they had not planned on coming until the last minute. Walt and Doris Low spent a few days over the New Years' weekend with friends in Hazelhurst, Wis., doing a little snowmobiling. Walt went ice fishing and caught enough for a couple of fish dinners. W a r r e n ( C a p p y ) Stienhouse celebrated his 70th birthday at the Moose lodge in McHenry last Saturday night with many of his friends, neighbors and relatives. This was a very memorable night for Cappy. We hope you have many more happy birthdays, "CAP".
