It draws its members from more than 25 different communites in Illinois and Wisconsin, from Rockford to Waukegan, from Lake Geneva to River Forest. Music Director Thomas Wikman is the founder and director of Chicago's ac claimed "Music of the Baroque", now in its ninth concert season. He has performed at the White House for President Carter, at the Ravinia festival, the Woodstock Opera House, and in churches all over the Chicago area. pattern made him one of the most popular actors and comedians of his time. On January 29, the U.S. Postal Service will issue a 1980 commemorative stamp honoring Fields on the 100th anniversary of his birth. The first day of issuance cere mony will be held in Beverly Hills, Calif. The Fields stamp will be the fourth issue in the Per forming Arts and Artists Series began in 1978 by the Postal Service. Cover and food are the limiting factors in maintaining the wildlife population. The Illinois Department of Conservation, Division of Wildlife Resources, provides seed packets for wildlife food and cover planting. The packets contain sorgum (milo), buckwheat, millet and soybeans. One bag covers approximately V* acre and each V\ acre planting provides enough for 40 acres. These packets are available free of charge. Sign up by March 31 at the McIIenry County Soil and Water Conservation district, 1143 N. Seminary avenue, Woodstock. Packets can be picked up in May! Trees and shrubs are also ayailabe from the Illinois Department of Con servation, \ Division of Forestry. These tree seedlings are for the purpose of establishing wildlife food arid cover, improving forest lands, controlling erosion and for Christmas trees. Some tickets are still available for the premier performance of the New Oratorio Singers to be presented Sunday, Feb. 10, at 4 p.m. in St. John the Baptist church, 2302 Church street in Johnsburg, 3 miles north of McHenry. A chorus of 75 voices and a 52-member professional orchestra will be conducted by Music Director Thomas Wikman in a program of works by Durufle and Vaughan Williams.
