Clara has been funding parties for children at Chicago Read Mental Health center with bake and rummage sales for the past 13 years. She received a trophy from the nation's first lady, Rosalyn Carter and said, "this is the happiest moment of my life." At the present time, Clara is planning a bazaar at her home to make money to entertain the children for the Easter holiday. Bill and Mabel Zawislak accompanied Clara to the luncheon and also had the pleasure of meeting the first lady and shaking hands with her. Mabel and Bill are very proud of the honor bestowed on Clara. I've had the pleasure of meeting Clara and attending her bazaars. The work she puts into these for the benefit of young patients is un believable. She's quite a special lady. PHOTO BY ED POWERS TRK Lung Group Sponsors Camp For Asthamatics CORRECTION In the story concerning the hearing March 11 about proposed school cuts by the board of Education of Elmentary School District 15, which appeared in the March 14 issue, some remarks made by one of the student speakers were inadvertently attributed to Judy Hamilton, president of the McHenry Classroom Teachers association; Ms. Hamilton made no reference to parents having no time to teach their children the art and music programs which were to be curtailed. Applications for the summer camp for asthmatic children, to be held July 13- 19 at a Boy Scout camp near Peoria, are now being received by the DuPage- McHenry Lung association in Woodstock. Application forms for the camp, for children between the ages of 8 and 13 who have asthma, have been sent to all school nurses and pediatricians in the area. Approval of the family physician will be necessary for camp attendance. The asthma camp, which has been operated by lung associations in downstate Illinois during the past two summers, is staffed by doctors and nurses around the clock, but rarely has a child become acutely ill at the camp.
