Lakeland Park & Lakeland Shores Carol Cominsky 385-7246 SECTION 2 - PAGE 4 • PLA1NDEALER • WEDNESDAY. MARCH 26,1980 OUCH!! Looks like Bobby Nystrom will be in a cast the first six weeks of Spring. He had a skateboard accident and broke six bones in his foot. Look on the bright side Bob, Spring is usually wet and muddy and by the time the doctor removes your cast, the weather will be great and you'll be ready to take off on your bike, (forget the skateboard) Luncheon Set Since the first day o£ Spring has come and gone this is a good time to remind everyone of the Woman's Club Annual Spring Lun cheon and Card Party, Wednesday, April 23, at St. Patrick's church hall. Serving begins at 11:30 a.m. and reservations can be made by calling the ticket chairman, Lyda Radisch. Business people are welcome, and will be served promptly. The Womans_club plans to modernize the Community House kitchen and this event is one way they can earn money. NEW GIRL IN TOWN Ken arfd Sue Prazak became the proud parents of Nicole Ann March 18. She weighed 6 lbs., 3M> oz., and measured 18 inches long. Her sisters. Heather and Tracy have planned just how they will help take care of her. Ken's mother, Agnes Prazak had to be substitute daddy, since Ken was in southern Illinois for police school on delivery day. Ken and Nicole both came home the same day. We're glad everyone in the family finally got together. Congratulations to the Prazaks. SPRING FL6WERS The girls in Brownie Troop 464 took a field trip to a local florist, learned how the shop is run and were taught about plants and flowers. Each girl received a fresh cut car nation and a marigold plant to take home. Now they can use the in formation they learned to nurture those new plants so they can set them outside next month and watch them multiply. BIRTHDAY BOY Brian Edward Rous was six years old March 16. His parents, Ed and Barbara, had a party for him that day. Little sister Jaime thought his cake decorated with spaceships was really neat. Guests at the party were uncle Gil and son Joey ; aunt Bonnie, uncle Rick, and aunt Vicky with sons Jason and Justin; uncle Daniel and girlfriend Linda; friends Bob and Terry with Ashley and Ron and Rose with children Ronnie and Renee. Brian was & very happy boy on his special day. BOGGLE CHAMP?? Karen Doessel finally won two gam6s of Boggle, but she shouldn't let it go to her head. I checked my biorhythm chart and all my lines were low. Are there any other "Boggle addicts" like us out there? We're interested in finding out if we're the only ones Give me a call if you'd like to join us someday. , FLORIDA TRIP Lester and Mary Dobbins recently returned from their annual 3-month winter trip to Orange Lake, Fla. They stayed with their daughter and son-in-law, Ellyn and Bill Iddings, who run a fishing camp. They were able to enjoy visiting with grandchildren, Todd, Mary Lynn and Tim. Mary said the weather was cooler than usual but at least they didn't have any snow. While there, some fellow McHenryites stopped by to say hello. What a pleasant surprise to see the familiar faces of Gail Larson and Lena Thoursen. SECOND PARTY Last week we reported Suzanne Moore's birthday party. This lucky little girl was the star of another party this week. Her parents Steve and Anne and brothers, Kevin and Brian helped her celebrate with grandparents John and Blanche Blaney; grandma Ann More, aunt Pat, and uncle Ron Castiglione with children Christie, Michael and Jean. LASVEGASTRIP Lloyd and Jerry Wagner gave themselves nice bir thday presents this year; a weekend in Las Vegas. While there, they went to the Stardust to see the Spec tacular. They also saw a couple of magicians, who make a 5 ton elephant disappear. Their trip home was an eventful one, too. Instead of landing at O'Hare they were detoured to Detroit and finally made it home many hours later. Where do you two plqn to go next year for your birthday presents? The commission is also awaiting an answer from the Illinois attorney general concerning a possible conflict of interest in the offering of local technical assistance to municipalities by the commission and staff. Specific areas of question could be the possible conflict between the McHenry County Year 2000 Land Use1 plan and land use plans of municipalities. He has also been invited to Eastern Illinois university for the fifth annual Illinois Public Administration conference. To loosen it for peel ing, dip the fruit into boiling water for about 45 seconds, then into cold water. You can then grasp the loosened skin of the fruit. Peel gently, using the dull edge of a knife. THE POT HOLE WOW/ OP&rofjvhT OME/ LOOie UKfcTte EH-ACK flQL£/ Everybody likes a good sport.
