Offer Tree-Shrub Planting Program Planting trees and land scape plants is not a difficult1 task if you know the do's and don'ts. Many homeowners enjoy putting in new plan tings. The joy, however, will not last long if proper methods of preparing the planting spot and planting the material are not used. The University of Illinois Cooperative Extension service has an pvenin** program to help property owners familiarize them selves with tree and shrub planting. It will be Monday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Farm Bureau auditorium in Woodstock. Registration is required before March 28. A fee is charged. Robin was presented a $10 prize from Student Council president, Greg Gilmore. The thirty original con testants were: fifth grade Tammy Verush. Michael Freund, Susan Bassi, Barry Seavey, Tracey Jensen and Keith Schultz; sixth grade - Robert Williams, Katherine Kent, Craig Lagowski, Julia Beck. McHenry Teacher In Evaluation Program Miss Kathryn Reimann, instructor at the McHenry East high school, served with an on-site evaluation committee during the week of March 24-27. The evaluation team consisted of seven members chosen from locations throughout the state serving in cooperation with the Illinois State Board of Education Department of Adult, Vocational and Technical Education. The team carried on the evaluation in Hinsdale Township High School District 86. They approached the If you have ever had the misfortune to lose your wallet or purse, as I have, you know the problems you had replacing the items therein and what you had to go through to report to the proper authorities that certain items had been stolen. The biggest problem is reporting stolen or lost items is to whom the theft should be reported and how to contact _ the proper authorities. The first thing you should do is report the loss or theft to the Police department, and have a report made. When you come to the station, you should know exactly what was in the wallet or purse. Know which credit cards were there, grocery sto're charge cards or check cashing cards, also if your checkbook was there, which numbers were left in the book, your account number, etc. evaluation through com ponents consisting of oc cupational programs, student services, personnel, program management and community resources. Miss Reimann has been with the McHenry school district for the past two years and during the '79'80 school year has been in strumental in helping to plan and execute a Commercial Foods class with emphasis on the vocational aspects of food service careers. All of this information will be put on the report, because each company may want a copy of the report for their records to verify the loss or theft. Next, you should contact each company as fast as you can and® report the loss or theft. To do this, you will have to have the account number of the credit card, phone numer of the company and branch of the company to whom you report the loss. This information is usually available on the back of the credit cards. It would be a good idea for you all to sit down right now, take out all your credit cards, and write down the address and phone number of each company for future use if heeded. It becomes very hard to find the right branch of the company to call and you can run up one heck of a phone bill calling some of these companies that are out of state, such as gasoline cards like Citgo, in Tulsa, Oka., or Texaco in Dallas, Tex. Also, write down the ac count number, as they will ask you for this first thing. Should you lose your wallet, write down the police report number and the agency you reported it to, since the companies will want the information, too.,. For your driver' slicense, after having made the report to the police, take the report number with you to the driver's license station in Woodstock and advise them of the theft, too, and they will issue you a new license, marked as a duplicate. With this duplicate stamping on it, should the police stop the offender who stole your wallet and he-she is trying to use your driver's license, the computer will tell the officer that the license is a corrected one, the original has been stolen, and the offender may be caught. For the social security card, also contact the office for social seccurity in Woodstock, and they too, will issue another card with the same number. This card can not do you too much harm if it is stolen, except that most people do not remember their number. However, the theft should be reported to the office as soon as is possible. If your checkbook was also taken, contact the bank immediately and put a stop payment on aqy of the remaining blank checks that were still in the book. Even if you do find the checkbook later, the of fender may have taken one of the blank checks deep in the pad and you would not notice the theft of the blank check until you, came to it in sequence. Then it may be too late. It is always good to remember the number of the last check you wrote, and to whom it was written. Otherwise you would have to void the entire pad and this could make the person you wrote a good check to a little upset until you can get back to him and explain. How about your car and house keys?
