Hurricane Happening Feature Ring wood News Marian's version of American's oldest living teenager, "Dick Clark", will host the festivities and all those attending will have a chance to participate in the fun. A specia] appearance by the Happening's "Everly Brothers" is sure to bring back memories of the Rock 'n' Roll era. "American Bandstand" is just one of the many at tractions at the Woodstock school's annual fund raiser. Parents, faculty, and local business people team up yearly to produce a series of nightspots with live en tertainment as well as disco favorites at the school. Music, dancihg, satire, folk singing, and plenty of food and drink make the Hurricane Happening an event that draws crowds from all over McHenry county every year. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Johnsburg District Pre-School Registration Johnsburg Community Unit District 12 will be holding a comprehensive registration for all children born prior to Dec. 1, 1977. The registration will take place at the Johnsburg Middle school Wednesday, April 16, and Thursday, April 17. Registration will be done alphabetically by last name as follows: Wednesday, A through E, 9 -11; F through J, 1 - 3; Thursday, K through R, 9 -11; S through Z, 1 - 3. This registration applies to all pre-school children ages 3 through 5, even if the child has been registered previous years. School officials are hopeful that all parents of children 3, 4 and 5 years of age will register on these two days. 100 percent registration is the goal set in order , to facilitate the coordination of kindergarten placement for this coming September. Equally important is the necessity to arrange for a hearing and vision ap pointment (to be held in April for all pre-schoolers) and to provide information for the pre-school diagnostic screening (to be held during the summer). So that school officials may provide complete and convenient services for district residents, it is im portant that parents register at this time. This 3, 4 and 5-year-old registration is very im portant and necessary in order to efficiently and adequately provide quality ANNOUNCING 4 NEW SIMPLICITY RIDING MOWERS PRICED AS LOW AS $725.00 Why walk when you can ride? The annual registration serves as an informal census for the district also; therefore, all parents are encouraged to m a k e n e c e s s a r y arrangements so their children can be registered. If anyone is unable to come at the assigned time, the-school will cooperate at a time that is convenient. The schedule is set up to avoid overcrowding and should be adhered to, if at all possible. It is necessary that all children registering for kindergarten bring their birth certificate. VACTIONERS RETURN HOME Bud and June Oxtoby took an extended vacation this past winter and have just returned to let us know that it is nice in the Phoenix area in the winter. They saw many friends and did many things during the 3 months they were gone. They spent several days in LasVegas enjoying the shows, etc., and went to California for a few days and visited with .a cousin of June's. Doris and Karl Hoff were in the area and they all did some sight seeing together. They visited with Betty and Jack Leonard and saw Butch Leonard, who was visiting his parents at that time; Ruth Harrison and June spent a day shopping in Scotsdale and went out for lunch together; it really seemed like "old home week" when the Wm. Cristy's and the Urban Bauer's stopped in to see Bud and June. Of course the flash floods came while Bud and June were in the area and they drove around to see the damage which was mostly in the flat lands and river area. They had a fun and relaxing time, but think home is the best place to be. CONDOLENCES Sympathy goes to John Hogan on the death of his brother. March 15.
