REAI ESTATE CORNER By Morel* Parker HOME OWNERSHIP IS STILL POSSIBLE In keeping up with on ever changing economy. Real Estate financing techniques must be continually modified to reflect the needs of both buyers and sellers. The finan cing methods used yesterday are no longer feasible. >Today, many sellers are agreeable to V.A. and F.H.A. financing. Here lower down- payments and interest rates make the sale attractive to buyers and possible for sellers. •Today. loan assumptions, which utilize yesterdays low interest rates. have eliminated the need for ob taining a new loan at current rotes. •Today, mony Real Estate tran sactions are being completed through the use of the Land Contract Sale. This allows buyers and sellers to negotiate more favorable terms between themselves. •Today, lending institutions are now able to offer 3 to 5 year renegotiate interest rate mortgoges. A ceiling exists on the maximum but not on the minimum rate to be rein stated. Mony combinations and variations of these techniques are being used today. In utilizing any of these methods it is most important to have a knowledgoble Real Estate Councelor and approval by your attorney. Why not stop in and let your full-service broker show you how buying and selling can be mode prac tical .... today. School Board Candidates To Meet Board At the April meeting of STAY (Save Teachers And Youth) members discussed the District, 15 school board elections and the candidates for the three openings. The Candidates' night sponsored by the Valley View PTO was also discussed. Kathy Cichonski noted that questions to the candidates on that occasion had to be submitted in writing and were screened by a member of the Women's League of Voters. Members questioned whether this practice gave credence to the candidates1 platform of open communication with the public. Ms. Cichonski, who at tended the April 8 District 15 school board meeting, reported that a Liaison committee between school board and teachers had been formed to work out dif ferences between the two sides. As had been decided at a previous meeting, a representative of STAY will attend future school board meetings to keep members informed.
