Mabel Thomas, mother of Doris Low, received a special plant recognizing her as the oldest mother present and Jane Giegoldt received a plant as the most recent to become a mother. The ARK school children's presentation of Noah and the Ark was enjoyed tremen­ dously by everyone. SON BAPTIZED Little Keith Allen Hansen, - born Dec. 6, was presented forChrisitan baptism by his parents, Barb and Jeff Hanson, during services last Sunday. His sister, Britta, as well as grandparents and an uncle were present to share in this happy occasion. Following services, Jeff and Barb served dinner to Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Hanson of Princeton, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kampe of Joliet, Greg Hanson and friend of Lake-in-the-Hills, Lynn Sterka of Johnsburg and Julie Deener of Wonder Lake. In the afternoon, Mary Ann Klapperich dropped by for a visit. BAPTIZE DAUGHTER The infant daughter of Jane and Michael Giegoldt was presented for Christian baDtism during services last Sunday. Godparents for little Renee Diane, born Feb. 26, were Donna Giegoldt of Chicago and Jerry Webster of Prospect Heights. In addition to her sisters, Erin and Virginia, grand­ mother, Virginia Giegoldt of Chicago was present for the service. Others attending were Mark and Kevin Giegoldt of Chicago, Cecile Cochran of Maywood, Dorothy and Buck ANNIVERSARY OPEN HOUSE A reminder for friends and neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Sowers, of the open house to be held at the Ringwood church Saturday afternoon, May 17, from 1 to 4 p.m. They will be celebrating their sixtieth wedding anniversary. RURAL LIFE • SUNDAY Rural Life Sunday will be celebrated at - worship ser­ vices Sunday, May 18, at the campout in Chain-O-Lakes State park. Following ser­ vices, there will be a parish picnic. -This is all part of the weekend campout. There will also be a canoe-a-thon at the campout for U.M.Y. members and friends. CHICAGO BUS TRIP The bus trip 'to Chicago was a remendous success. Thirty-seven-ladies and Rev. Segin returned after a very wonderful day visiting Water Tower Place, but of course they were all tired out. Also, some were looking forward to another such trip. We'll let you know when another one can be planned. MOTHER'S DAY The Walt Lows traveled to Elkhorn, Wis. to be with daughter Pam, hubby Dan and little Robin Kehoe on Mother's day. The day was c(e but coril and all 26 memt Low clan that gatt fun day with the ones (little and big kids) having a lively game of baseball in the backyard. Another group took theilr usual walk -with the little kids to see the deer, lamas, . goats and ducks which are about a mile from Pam and Dan. (these animals can be seen to the right of Rt. tt when traveling north thru ' Elkhorn). •Those helping to make the day complete were Doris' mom, Mabel Thomas; Bob and Sue Low of McHenry; Tom Low and Sherri; Ray Low; Patti Miller; Lee and Scott; Dan Hansen; Sue Madey; Donna; Eddie and Marcy; Walt ahd Alice Mae Wilcox of Woodstock; Doris and Walt Low; and to everyone's surprise, Linda and Bill i Billikas, Nicky, Charlie and Becky drove in from Dubuque; so all were together except Donna, way ^>ut there in Calif. SEWING WORK DAY Sewing work day will be held in the home of Trudi Hohmann Thursday, May 22, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Contact Katy Christopher if you need directions to her home. BIRTHDAYS Happy birthday goes to Michael Hopp and Ken Beck, Jr., May 21, with Darlene Huemann, Mike Hopp and Henry Tomlinson adding another year May 22. May 23 is that special day for Lori Faber and May 24: Bob Brennan, Sr., will add another year. May 25 is that special day to Helen Malsch Davis and Tom Hopp and May 26 is that special day for Mertie Harrison and Barb Byron. Charge McHenry Man In Gasoline Theft A McHenry man was arrested and charged after he reportedly admitted syphoning gas from a truck early last Sunday morning. While on routine patrol, Sheriff's police noticed a pickup truck parked next to a larger truck on Glenwood lane and stopped to in­ vestigate. A hose was found extended from the gas tank of one truck to the gas tank of the other and a juvenile female was found asleep in the pickup truck. The driver of the pickup, Charles Russell,' 19, of 1611 N. Woodlawn, McHenry, told police his truck had run low on gas. Russell was charged tfith theft under $150 and im­ proper parking. The juvenile was referred to authorities for curfew violation. PAGE 15 - PLA1NDEALER - FRIDAY, MAY It, I960 someone had stolen an AM- FM radio and. some hand tools from his pickup truck. On May 13, Thomas Mathews, of 3145 E. Lake Shore drive, Wonder Lake, reported the theft of a garden tractor from his driveway. It was believed to have been towed away since the battery was dead. Another garden tractor was taken from the home of Glenn Brauer, of 808 Florence, McHenry. Vicki Chicks, of 307 N. East Lake drive, McHenry,- reported the theft of a stereo, a portable television, six cassette tapes and about $40 from her home. Someone broke into the home of Charles Froula, 3316 Rocky Beach, McHenry, last Friday and stole half of a silver service and 15 books of quarters. On May 10, Paul Winston, of 9106 Vine, Wonder Lake, reported the theft from his home of a tin box containing unset gems and some materials for making rings. A stereo mixing board and six microphones were taken from the gymnasium of Harrison school sometime last Saturday. A McHenry area roofer, George Barber, reported the Thursday theft of a mobile melting kettle from a job site on Route 120.
