Cathy Crasser, daughter of Mrs. Connie Hoffman, 1209 Sunset, McHenry, and Kathy Rasmussen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Rasmussen, 205 Hickory Terrace, Island Lake, will attend one-week journalism workshops in July at the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater. As both girls will be working on the school yearbook as juniors, they will benefit from their workshop experience. The scholarship honors Mrs. Maralyn Levens, an East campus English teacher who lost her life in an automobile accident in Non-Credit Courses Offered At College February, 1978. Mrs. Levens once sponsored the East Campus newspaper. In her memory, friends and relatives established this scholarship program so that students could expand their journalism skills. Committee members who annually select winners are Mrs. Robert Swartzloff, Mrs. Gloria Burke, Mrs. Edward Aweve and James Blum, all friends and colleagues of Mrs. Levens.
