Green County Fair Opens For Five Days The 126th Green County fair, with everything from nationally famous country- western stars to a big jet-age tractor pull, will open of­ ficially at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 23,1, and continue through Sunday, July 27, at the fairgrounds in Monroe, Wis. There will be harness racing at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 p.m. Sunday, with 100 horses on the finest track of its size in Wisconsin, and the Demolition Derby is set for 4 and 8 p.m. on Sunday. All seats are reserved. Amphitheatre events will actually get under way Wednesday night with fairgoers getting a taste of the "Old West" as 4-H youngsters put their horses and ponies through a series of hoof-beating, dirt-flying games that are run against the clock. This "Games Night" and Parade of Champions will begin at 7:15 p.m. following a 30-minute concert by the Monroe jazz ensemble. There will be no admission charged. There will be another free show on Senior Citizens day on Thursday, July 24, with the Monroe kitchen band on stage from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Everyone over 65 will be admitted without charge to the grounds that day and the Green County Bankers association will present a check to the oldest male and female fairgoer at 3:30 p.m. Senior Citizens have been asked to sign up at the Ad­ ministration building by 3 p.m., giving their name, age and address.
