LabM Part t LalnM Skirts Carol Cominsky 385-7246 Offer Aerobic Dance Lesson The McCullom Lake Beach Gals are having a free demonstration and mini- lesson on aerobic dancing tonight. They have invited any members of women's clubs in McHenry, and their friends, to join in the fun. Aerobic dancing is a means of physical fitness through dancing and a fine way to keep our bodies in shape. The lesson begins at 8:30 p.m. at the McCullom Lake beach house with cake and coffee served before the evening ends at 10 -p.m. If you would like more in formation or plan to attend please call Lauri at 344-3864. ASSOCIATION MEETING The next meeting of the Lakeland Park Property Owners association is Thursday, Sept. 4. It will begin at 8 p.m. at the community house on Sunset. Some of the interesting topics to be discussed are a report on hiring a lawyer to represent the association; Conservation club and weed cutting news; and possible new projects for the association to start. The highlight of the evening will be a discussion of the rousing success of the street bash that was held Aug. 24. The weather cooperated, the band was great, brats super and the beer ran out five times. They planned on 300 people at tending but there was close to 700 people who came out for the fun. This will definitely be an annual event for Lakeland Park. CAMPING TRIPS The Moore family spent a recent week staying in a her girlfriends. The girls who attended were Tammy Sexton, Tracy Boyd, Maria Matheny, Regina Nowicki and Lisa Cominsky. There was plenty of fun and games and not much sleep for the girls. A dinner party was given for Kim on her actual birth date. Her brothers Bob and John were there, along with aunt Jeanne Watkins, cousins Tommy and Debbie and Steve Grabo and John's girlfriend Sherry Patzke. She received many gifts of clothes which came in handy for the new school year. Both sons of Steve and Anne Moore had a birthday in August. Kevin was 11 years old Aug. 14 and Brian turned 8 on Aug. 19. Both boys were guests of honor at a party for them on Satur day, Aug. 23. Their sister Suzanne was there to wish them well, along with grandma Aim Moore, great- grandaunt Kate, grand parents John and Blanche Blaney, Chris and Mary Cairns, with sons Sean and John. Also on hand were aunt Pat and uncle Ron Castiglione, with their children Christy, Michael and Jean. Friends Sue and Bruce Warren stopped by later with , their children, Joel, Julie and Emily. FLORIDA BOUND We wish a fond farewell to John and Mary Schaan who left our neighborhood Aug. 29 for Newport Richie, Fla. The Schaans resided on Meadow lane for 20 years. Three of their four children have been away for a while with David in the marines; Penny in the army; and Vanessa, who graduated from basic training in the air force Aug. 29. Son Myron plans to stay in McHenry to finish school and then who knows, maybe he will join the navy. The Schaan family will be greatly missed by their many friends and neighbors, but we wish them much happiness at their new home. LaRocca on Sept. 3. Scott Koscher will be 4 years old on the fourth. Thompson has approved legislation to extend through Fiscal Year 1983 schools' authority to apply for reimbursement grants for summer school • programs for proundly and severely handicapped students. Steve and Anne, with their children Kevin, Brian and Suzanne, enjoyed the sunshine while we were suffering with all the rain here. They stayed a few days each at White Birch lake and Mead lake. Before returning home, a day was spent at the Dells taking in the sights. When Duane and Denise Winn went on the August cam pout with their camping club at Lake LaDonna in Oregon, 111., they got in some practice for their trip next month in Hawaii. The theme that weekend was Hawaiian complete with a luau. I'm sure that weekend won't compare to the real thing. VACATIONER Tommy Watkins was the lucky little boy last month when he got to take his first vacation without his family. He went to Black River Falls, Wis., with his friend, Michael Prather. Mike's mother drove the boys to his grandmother's house, where they stayed for 16 days. Tom's mother, Jeanne, said it was very quiet at home and after a few days it got pretty lonely without her active six-year-old. On Sept. 1 Timothy Serritella added another year; Susan Henderson was sweet six teen; and Kenny Henderson was 10 years old. On Aug. 29, Cathy and Dennis Storlie were married 14 years. It was the twelfth anniversary for Michael and Karen Aldiich on Aug. 30. Abraham and Patricia Taylor enjoyed their twenty- second anniversary on Aug. 31. We wish all of you many more years together. Get the officer's name, badge number and jurisdiction. - Refuse to sign any liability waivers or assurances that - you are uninjured since accident injuries are not always immediately evident. Even if you only suspect you are injured, consider seeing a doctor. - Take notes on the cir cumstances surrounding the accident, including time, placed weather and road conditions, any evidence of law violation, approximate speed of both cars and other relevant details. - Diagram the scene of the accident as accurately as possible, including the precise placement of cars and people. v - Report the accident to your insurance represen tative promptly since most | Singers "At Museum Sunday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m. the McHenry Sweet Adelines will be performing at the McHenry County Historical museum in Union. This popular barbershop chorus, winners of three consecutive years of their region's 'small chorus' award, have been performing throughout the area since 1974. They presently have some 34 members under the direc tion of Pat Gattone of McHenry. The Sweet Adelines will perform in costume on stage in the main exhibit hall of the museum. Their program Sunday will combine foot-stomping sing-along melodies with Dixieland. It promises to be a lively, colorful and ein tertaining musical show. There is plenty of seating and new museum exhibits to see following the per formance, including one on mason iars and their history. The Historical society ex tends an invitation to all for this Sunday musical show. Beginning September, the museum will no longer be open on Saturdays.
