MARRIAGE LICENSES If yothgrant to try cooking chicken for one of $20,000 in prizes at the National Chicken Cooking Contest in July, now's the time to take the < first step. One finalist from each state and the District of Columbia will be selected to take part in the 33rd annual cook-off on July 29 in Ocean City, MD. A prize of $10,000 awaits thytop winner. Four runners- upwill share another $10,000 in prizes, ranging from $4,000 (second) to $1,000 (fifth place)! It's easy to enter. Entry blanks are not required but for full details you can obtain one by send ing a self-addressed stamped envelope to the above address. Preliminary cookoffs will determine finalists from some states. In states where no cook-off is held, an independ ent recipe judging agency will select the representative who will receive an expense-paid trip to the national competition. According to the National Broiler Council, sponsor of the contest, winners at all levels are judged on four equal points: taste, simplicity, appearance and appeal. Chicken is the only required ingredient and a whole bird or any part or parts may be used. Recipes should be written for approximately four servings and preparation tjpie must not exceed three hours. The chicken cook-off is the nation's oldest annual cooking competition, dating back to 1949. Last year's $10,000 recipe was "Capital Chicken Casserole," prepared by the contestant from the District of Columbia.
