/ ORDINARY PEOPLE' SUBJECT FOR 1981 HOSPITAL SPEAKER FRED BRIGGS *\ * (Continued from page 1) who was then in exile in Parish. He will speak on "Ordinary People", a report on the personalities he has interviewed since 1958, when his journalism career began. "Citizens who are interested in joining the not-for-profit McHenry Hospital corporation may do so through Jan. 31"; according to Olsen. "This is an opportunity for people who want to show their support for McHenry Hospital to, do--so concretely." The annual membership fee entitles each member to attend the annual dinner meeting. Applications for membership mav be requested from the hospital's public information office, 385-2200, extension 622. MUSIN' AND MEANDERIN' (Continued from page 1) are not guided by a walk button. Oc casionally they become nervous - and rightly so -- when they begin their walk only to find the words change to "Do Not Walk". Sufficient time remains to reach the other side in spite of the warning, but too often, according to Pasenelli, drivers turning right harass walker* by sounding the horn even though the pedestrian has the right-of- way. A button to signal for a "walk" sign guides those who travel north and soulfi, but here is where the impatience of our fellowman (or woman) has been evident. In the short time since the traffic signals were installed, the state has had to replace the buttons three times because they were broken through rough handling. Chief Pasenelli reminds that not only is this an expensive practice, but it also delays the fellow who is in such a big hurry. KAF LEGISLATOR HOSPITALIZED (Continued from page I) Chicago said Hanahan, 46, was un dergoing tests in the intensive care unit of the hospital. His heartbeat was reported to be irregular. A spokesman at St. John's hospital said Hanahan was admitted but declined further comment. Rep. Hanahan's legislative office in McHenry was unable to provide any further information on the legislator's condition at press time Thursday morning.
