Mr. and Mrs. George J, Schmitt (Martha Tonyan) of St. John's street, celebrated their great day with a Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Saturday, Jan. 17, at 3 in the afternoon. It was the same edifice-in which they were married fifty years ago on Jan. 21, 1931, by Father Vollman. The wedding party con­ sisted of Alfred Tonyan, Esther Tonyan Michels, Mary Schmitt Hiller and Bemice Hiller Freund. A reception was held at the groom's parents' home 4209 N Spring Grove road. After the Mass Saturday, there was a family reception at the Johnsburg Com­ munity club. Many relatives from out-of-town California, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Missouri and Wisconsin - joined with the family for the festivities of this wonderful day. George and Martha Sch- mitt's family are Jane and George Mann and daughters. Adele Buss and daughters. Lois and Don Johnson and children, and Elaine and Jim Batz and Brian May God bless you, George and Martha,' with many more happy and healthy years. BABY-SITTING SAFETY A new course arranged by the P.TO.O., will be held for Johnsburg District 12 and St. ° John the Baptist school students, from fifth grade and up These will be in the J.C. Bush Multi-Purpose room, 7 to 9 p.m. on con­ secutive Tuesday evenings, beginning Feb. 24. Classes are free and registration forms will be passed out to all the boys and girls at the school near the end of January.- Parents' permission will be required. Safety tips from police, fire and rescue squads, as well as disciplinarian ideas and child care will be in­ cluded. RESCUE SQUAD PARTY An evening of games will benefit Johnsburg Rescue Squad Building fund Saturday, Feb. 21, at "the Johnsburg community club. Mark your calendar for this date and be there with your friends and neighbors. Cakes, pies, desserts will be needed, or cash donations for pizzas and hot dogs, to be served during the evening. Please advise Mrs. G.J. (Marie) Klein as to what you would like to donate. Come and support this most worthy cause for our rescue squad - we all benefit from their good work! RUNNING CLUB Bob Texidor of Johnsburg high school, is forming a Running club. Area runners of all ages are welcome to attend the next meeting, which will be held Thursday, Jan. 22, in the Learning Center of the high school, at 7:30 p.m. ST. JOHN'S PRESCHOOL If interested in the second semester of pre-school classes, call 385-3959. Classes are from 9 to 11:30 a.m., and children may attend once, twice or three times a week. CONGRATULATIONS ..-.to Kelly Joy Accettura, Dee Eileen Glassmann, James Robert Hodges, Jr., Laura Jean Hodges, Brook Katherine McSwain and Shawn Michael Stewart, who were baptized at the noon Mass, Sunday, Jan. 11 at St. John's, and best wishes to their parents. We now ask that you remember her daughter Elaine (Nell) Schmaling, who died shortly after her mother, with funeral Mass at St. Patrick's, and burial at St. John's. Also rerrfember the mother of Mrs. Walter (Arlene) Kostner, Jak-Ana Heights, who passed away the past week in Iowa.
