It's even more important when driving in bad weather, as tempers become frayed and most of us are short on patience. Be courteous behind the wheel, especially during the next two months when conditions are liable to be bleak. Look out for the other guy and yield the right of way. When roads are snow packed and icy, and traffic is tied up or reduced to one lane of travel, please slow down and exercise caution. When you drive to work after a bad winter storm, double the amount of travel time so you can reach your destination safely. If traffic is reduced to one lane, and single lines of cars are bumper to bumper, occasionally let a waiting car from a side street or parking space in front at you. If this courtesy is ex tended to you, be sure to acknowledge it with a wave of your hand. As you approach an in tersection or an entrance ramp to an expressway, don't assume that city or state workers have been there with salt or cinders. If you slide into the rear of the vehicle in front of you, you are driving too fast for conditions. (A copy of the Rules of the road will be sent to you upon request.
