Shannon, San Diego, Cai., to Patrick Murphy, also of San Diego, the son of James and Gloria Murphy of San Diego. The bride elect is a 1972 graduate of Marian Central Catholic high school, received a Nursing degree from Triton college and attended U.C.S.D. The future bridegroom graduated from Patrick Henry high school, attended Miramair college and U.C.S.D. A June 27 wedding is planned at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic church in McHenry. CINDY FREUND ANNOUNCE ENGAGEMENT - Mr. and Mrs. Donald C. Freund, Crystal Lake, announce the engagement of their daughter, Cindy, to Mike Ingleby, Fox Lake, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Ingleby, Bettendorf, Iowa. Ms. Hoffman, who recently joined the B.P.W., will speak on "A New Decade, A New Adventure". me second speaker wiii be Sharon Loe of Rockford, who will talk about the library project. A 6:30 cocktail hour will be followed by 7 p.m. dinner at John Evans Inn, Crystal Lake. Ms. Hoffman was selected from a .group of young career women in the McHenry area to represent the club in the district and state, competing with out­ standing young women from all over the state for the title of "Young Career Woman". The young careerist selected from each club in District VI will compete by giving her impression of the 1980-81 theme at the Spring meeting on Mar. 15, in Woodstock at a morning brunch. In qualifying for this local title, the Young Career applicant tells the I RICKI HOFFMAN club what accomplishments she is most proud of, either professionally or personally, and what her goals are for the next ten years. Ms. Hoffman is a reporter- photographer for the Free Press Newspaper Group (McHenry Herald) doing the usual numerous jobs en­ tailed with that position. She was recently named "Journalist of the Year" by her company after only seven months of em­ ployment. She has received several awards for photos and articles in competition with other weekly papers. Ms. Hoffman likes meetihg people and likes working at her career. Like most every other writer, she's a frustrated novelist, and is still working on that 1 KocKgollor' A native of New York, Ms. Hoffman attended ' the University of Wisconsin in Madison. During high school and college she has had experience as a market research interviewer and journalist. She plaits to further her career in jour­ nalism and photography, along with her hobbies and interests in piano and guitar, sports and writing poetry. Ms. Loe is General Reference & Information Services consultant, Nor­ thern Illinois Library System. She was born in Minnesota and her hobbies include reading, sewing, travel and music. Two new, special at­ tractions this year will be Cane Toss and Ring-o-prize. A returning favorite is the White Elephant auction, with Tony Novak as auc­ tioneer. Games will include Lollipop Tree, Duck Pond, Pen Game, 7-11, Teddy Bear, Cup Cake Surprise. Bumper Car, Milk Bottles, Pan Game, Bozo Buckets. Tic- Tac-Toe and Cake Walk. Club Slates Square Dance The Rainbow Ramblers Square Dance club will be holding a dance Feb. 8, from 7 until 10 p.m. at Robert Crown school in Wauconda The dance is called "Square Hearts" and the club members would like to invite everyone to join in squaring up with his best sweetheart. Guest caller will be Bob Hester, who will put the dancers through some lively steps. Rounds workshop, under the direction of George and Joyce Kammerer, will be from 7 to 7:30 p.m. The Robert Crown school is located approximately 200 yards west of route 12 on Bonner road.
