Lakeland Park & Lakeland Shores Carol Cominsky Clinic Opens For Phoblcs Agoraphobia is defined as a dread of being in an open space or public place. Agora is a Greek word for public square or market place, and phobia means an unreasonable fear. Literally t r a n s l a t e d , t h e n agoraphobia means feat* of the market place. 385-7246 In today's usage, however, agoraphobia refers to fear of many things. Multiple phobias are accompanied by a generalized tendency toward over-responsiveness- strong forces of inhibition against free expression and discharge of tensions - with the result that many situations can trigger the anxiety reaction. The person is then in what is called a phobic state; or agoraphobia. Hr y SCOUT NEWS 1 Pinewood derby winners from Pack 142 are shown above. We love the snow but could do without the Arctic air that always seems to follow a, snowstorm. The snowmobilers were happy to finally have something to drive their machines on. A few of them forgot their manners though when they drove on their neighbors' yards and the middle of the streets where cars and trucks are sup posed to travel. Some people called me and asked that I remind the snowmobilers that they have many miles of trails designated for them to do their riding. I'm sure everyone was so excited when they saw all the snow that they forgot and it won't happen again.
