Behinit theScenes from Joe Bteeden Burbank^Lee Horsley may be making his TV debut on NBC-TV's new 'Nero Wolfe' series (Fridays), but the three other regulars on the series--William Conrad, George Voskovec and Robert Coote--have a combined show business career of more than 100 years! Horsley is a newcomer to the entertainment business having appeared for a short time on the stage in touring musicals and stock. On 'Nero,' Lee portrays Archie Goodwin, legman for Wolfe who does most of the so-called dirty work for the super sleuth. Conrad went into radio following his discharge from the Air Force after World War II and gained national fame as the original Matt Dillon on the radio version of 'Gunsmoke.' In more than 30 years Conrad has starred in numerous films and pro duced and directed a score of other film and television projects. Lee Horsley George Voskovec, who plays Fritz Brenner (cook), came to the United States from his native Czechoslovakia in the late 1930's and has been active as an actor and writer on the stage, in radio and in films. He has composed more than 300 songs going back to his youth when he was partnered with Jan Werich. Coote, seen as Horstman the horticulturist, began a long show business career in England in the 1940's on the stage and in motion pictures. He was a regular in the popular TV series 'The Rogues' from 1963-66. t-~ Major films he has appeared in since 1963 include 'Prudence and the Pill,' 'Kenner,' 'The Swinger,' 'A Man Could Get Killed,' 'The V.I.P.'s' and 'The Cool Ones.' Said Horsley: "You know, there's nothing as com forting as having three really veteran performers working around you. "I'm learning a lot from them both in front of, and off camera. Sometimes it's great just to listen and watch. And I'm doing a lot of both right now." TV COMMM.OO MRVtCfS.
