Margaret and her husband, Bruno, planned and built their home on land that had been purchased by ho* parents before the Great Depression. A student at Landmark school in McHenry, she later graduated from East campus, before the additions were put on and recalled playing tennis where the south addition now stands. She adds to her duties as correspondent by seeing to the needs of her family, which includes two daughters, Meg and Maribeth, one Mack dog, one Mack cat and "anyone in need of the healing power of potato soup." In addition, the McHenry- Nunda library has been her vocation for more than 10 years. She noted that the library has served a very real need for the residents of the community. Her dream is to see Lily Lake restored to the dean waters she knew as a youth. Margaret remembered the days when she could jump off the diving board built by her father and brother and not hit bottom or get tangled in the seaweed. "Perhaps we will see that again, if we have the determination to work at it through the Lily Lake Conservation club," she said. LAST DAY FOR VEHICLE TAGS Current Lasemoor vehicle stickers must be displayed on automobiles by Feb. 28. Stickers purchased Mar 1 and after, will have an ad ditional penalty charge. Also, police will be issuing tickets after Mar. I. LAST ICE FISHING? With the unseasonably warm weather this past week, it's difficult to remember the beastly cold winds of Feb. 11. As there was no school, due to the heavy snowfall, Tommy Pierce packed up his ice fishing gear, including a tent and portable stove, and headed for Lily Lake. Tommy spent several hours on the lake, caught some nice crannies, and wasn't even chilled Just watching him from the warmth of our home, when the wind chill factor was way below zero, made us shiver with cold. Ah, the warmth and dedication of youth! HEART DAY Anita and Albert Kunz had a lovely dinner at the Woodstock Courthouse in celebration of Valentine's day. Any couple bringing a marriage certificate which had been issued from the old Courthouse, was given a special treat at the restaurant. The Kurn's had their certificate, so were eligible for a special Valentine dinner. Anita and Albert now have another happy memory to enjoy in years to come. With the American family un dergoing such stress at this time, these films offer un derstanding of, and ways to deal with, some of the problems facing all ages today. Dr. Dobson, the films speaker, is a Christian medical doctor and children's psychiatrist in California. If you have missed the films at this church, others in the area will be showing them at various times. I suggest you see the whole series or read Dr. Dobson's books. American families are in trouble, so it's up to each one of us to try to do better. PARTY A birthday was the reason and the guest of honor was Doug Albeit.
