The Winter Weeds walk at Hickory Grove will cover about a mile and will last about one hour. An indoor-outdoor workshop on Backyards for Wildlife will cover wild animals, their habitat needs, and what one can do with his property to offer hospitality to homeless wild critters. This workshop will be at Glacial park Saturday, March 21, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Workshop leaders will be Sally Joosten (director of Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education for MCCD), John Shiel (MCCD interpretive naturalist), and Jeff Ver- Stccg (wildlife biclogirt for Illinois Department of Conservation). A look at several wild animals, a short trail walk to see different wildlife habitats, advice and brochures about plantings and management techniques for land will fill up the workshop. The main topic of discussion was the Easter carnival, which will be held Saturday, April 11, the weekend before Easter Sunday. Also held in conjunction with the Car nival is the Little Miss McCullom Lake contest. Requirements for the con test are as follows: 1. Girls must be between the ages of 4 and 8 by April 11, 1981 2. CATS is the chief tran sportation planning agency for the six counties - Lake, McHenry, Cook, DuPage, Kane, and Will - of nor theastern Illinois. The Policy committee, which includes representatives of each of the counties, the state, municipal governments, transit operators, * and federal funding agencies, is in charge of coordinating the various transportation planning activities required in a region this size. This coordination includes action on applications for federal funds. The meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday in the eighth floor conference room of the Illinois Department of Transportation District 1 headquarters, 1000 Plata drive, Schaumburg. DOG SHOW More than 2,500 canine aristocrats will be on hand for the forty-first annual International Kennel club Dog show March 28 and 29 at Chicago's International amphitheatre. The show is expected to be one of the largest held in the United States this year. The show will be benched. There will be three groups shown each day.
