Both unscripted dramas happened during filming of the episode, 'Strike.' First, shooting was interrupted by a $20,000 fire at the Pacific Telephone Building in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. Anderson, 29, who is a keen cameraman in real life, was first on the scene, and one of his shots was sent across the country by Associated Press. Then Kelsey, who plays reporter Billie Newman, got too close to the action when a van hit the picket barricades. "I was standing behind the barricade when the van caught it," she said. "It snapped against me and broke my wrist." The cameras kept rolling so the accident was written into the script. And Kelsey will be wearing a cast for the next few weeks. But striving for realism in 'Lou Grant' is nothing new for Kelsey. Ctften, the 32-year-old actress will roam the Los Angeles streets researching her role. "I feel I can capture the audience a little better and get a stronger grasp of what is being said," she told me. "People are going to believe in the show a lot more if we can cut through the garbage." "We've parted while we are still friends, before love could turn to bitterness, before what has been a beautiful, exciting marriage started gasping for breath. I certainly fought with everything I had not to let this happen, but it has. The pressures were there and people can grow apart no matter how much in love they are. It hasn't been easy, I went through weeks of mourn ing and pain just learning to live a single life again. I'm'not going out. Not dating. I have no desire to date. And there is no other person involved--not for either of us." TV CLOSEUP: Former 'Charlie's Angel' Kate Jackson vows she'll never wed again now that her marriage to An drew Stevens is over.
