This is a first in the village, since this year there are several who are running for election. Bill Mitchell, long time trustee who is running for mayor-president, has been out meeting the residents His opposition. Jim Eichhorn. has not been seen out yet Both candidates have posters up around the village This year there is also a race for trustee. John Miedzianowski, incumbent, who is running for reelec­ tion. has been out talking to residents. New to the political scene this year is Diana Barroso Diana is the first woman to run for a position on the board. Still to be heard from are Trustee William Sandell and Ray Nolan, who is running for trustee this year Ray has been the president for the past four years. Running for position of Village clerk is Betty Messer. who has completed the past term for Eleanor Schuberth. who was elected in April. 1977, and had to resign later in the year due to poor health. VILLAGE MEETING The village held its regularly scheduled second monthly meeting Tuesday. March 17. at the Johnsburg Junior high The Board is busy making its appropriations for the coming fiscal year This budget will be voted upon next month Included in the budget are plans to complete the municipal building in hopes of having it operable sometime this summer. The Board approved re- zoning Bill Mitchell's 1.8 acres fronting on Wilmot road to B-l Business The B-l zoning was granted on the recommendation of the zoning board of appeals who approved the change at a meeting held previous to the village meeting. Coming elections were discussed and under new state laws the newly elected officials will be sworn in at the second monthly meeting and take their official places on the board The next regularly scheduled meeting of the village will be held April 7 at the Johnsburg Junior high Since the village is not meeting in the polling place, the meeting will be as scheduled BOATERS MEET The Boat Owners association is having a meeting Friday, Mar. 27. 7 p.m., at the home of AI VanBrkum. 4107 N Riverview.
