GARDEN CLUB March's meeting of the Wonder Lake Garden club was indeed a stellar one, with Mrs Mary Walker as guest speaker. Mrs. Walker began her love of flowers from her childhood in Kentucky and it's been going strong ever since. Her slide presentation was of her extensive garden, beautiful blooms, vast varieties not found in nurseries, an education in itself. Mrs. Walker nostalgically remembers getting two blue ribbons, each in a different category, at a Wonder Lake garden flower show, toward becoming an accredited flower show judge ~ small and wonderful world! Thursday, April 9, will be the next meeting of the Wonder Lake Garden club at the home of Mrs. Matyll Banky, 7604 South drive. Wonder Lake, beginning at 8 p.m. In the meantime "Think Spring". STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD Clients, staff and families were joined by community friends Thursday, March 26, for the second annual Pioneer center skate-a-thon. The event, attended by over 200 skaters and spectators, was held at the Just For Fun roller rink in McHenry. Sue Hohm, skate-a-thon chairman, said the event was planned in March because it is Mental Retardation month and a time to particularly highlight the needs and activities of retarded per sons. Mrs. Hohm commented. "This was probably one of our neatest events because we had a full house of school children and a good many of our clients and families. We are especially pleased when there is an opportunity for our-clients to be involved in activities and benefits that are planned for the general public. Without a doubt, this was a very positive ex perience for everyone." Sandy Schweitzer, prize chairman, announced that it was too early to determine the total profit or prize winners, but the proceeds will definitely be substantial Observe Library Week Start losing weight today Begin losing weight immediately with maximum-strength Super Odrinei re ducing tablets and Diet Plan It takes over where your will power leaves ofl A government appointed panel ol med ical ?na scientific experts has reviewed the clinical tests of the maximum- strength ingredient in Super Odrinei. and has termed it safe and effective for appetite control and weight loss Try Super Odrtnei today To lose water bloat and pufftness. try Odrlnil Odrinil is the relief you want during the pre-menstrual cycle It is a natural water pill and it. too. is sold witfi a money-back guarantee Read and fol low all package precautions carefully ••Ifer'f Drwf Stars 1259 N.
