Announce Topics For Brown Bag Seminars Plan Parade Memorial Day All the signs are apparent • - tulips, hyacinths, and daffodils in bloom, and trees beginning to give off a green hue. Kids seem to love shedding their jackets and moms are happy to be hanging the blankets out on the line. Another sure sign of Spring is when the American Legion starts planning the annual Memorial Day parade. They are asking the cooperation of the com­ munity to make this parade a very meaningful one. Any group wishing to participate in the parade is ' encouraged to do so. You have time now to start planning a float or decorating a car or getting your group together to march along the parade route. VILLAGE ELECTION All of the candidates for office in the village ran unopposed in the April 7 election. Only three positions as trustee were needed to be filled and only three petitions were filed Winning the election as Village Clerk is Duane Zeman. Village Trustees, who were elected, are: John DePyssler, Scott Axelson, and incumbent, Anita Vanderwiel. SPECIAL DAYS A belated happy an­ niversary to Frank and Artis Teresi who celebrated their seventeenth anniversary April 4. April 11, Nancy Cristy, of St. Francis Heights, celebrated her birthday. Nancy will be getting her "sea legs" in shape for another season of crewing for Joe Sullivan when the sailing season begins! CCD ENDING There will be only one more CCD class for the students at Christ the King before their summer vacation begins. No classes will be held on Easter Sunday, April 19, but there will be class April 26. The closing ceremony will be held at the 10 a.m. Mass Sunday, May 3. All CCD students and teachers will be attending this Mass together. Attendance awards for the year will be presented after Mass. KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION All children who will be five years old on or before Dec. 1, 1981, may be registered for kindergarten at Greenwood school Thursday, April 30. Registering will take place all day and during the evening. Parents are asked to bring a copy of the child's birth certificate along with them. LANDOWNER S DINNER T h e T r a i l b l a z e r Snowmobile club will be holding its Landowner's Dinner-Dance Saturday, April 18. This is a way of thanking those who allow the club the use of their property during the snowmobile season. Cocktail hour begins at 6;30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. at An­ dre's in Richmond. Members are asked to contact Maggie Arseneau if you are planning to attend. SUPER STAR Congratulations to Carl Brown, son of Dr. Eric and Chloe Brown, who was recently given the honor of being chosen to the first team of the McHenry County Class A Basketball team. Carl had an exceptional year playing basketball at Marian Central Catholic high school. Not only was Carl's picture and name in the papers for his basketball skills, but also appeared for his scholastic abilities, which shows what a well rounded young man he is.
