Jean Dember won first and extra prizes, Sophie Paterson second, Julia Kraus third and Mildred Nejedly fourth. Connie O'Rourke ended up with the booby. The meeting was held at the Municipal building and the ladies were happy to have it in the downstairs hall, so the stairs would not have to be surmounted. ONE LIBRARIAN TO ANOTHER Julie Cassell as Marion Paroo in the production of '"nie Music Man" at the McHenry West auditorium last week, gave a fine in terpretation of a librarian in earlier times. Her clear true voice was delightful to listen to. All the youngsters in the Drama club presentation gave rousing performances. And along with Marion, many of us capitulated to the charm of Doug Maris as the "Music Man". The musical was a happy time given to us by a talented group>who will always remember "Good- THE END IS NEAR! Our supply of beautiful bushos from Roso Farm of Woodstock Is running low. APRIL SHOWERS There were two wedding showers held Sunday, April 5. The first one was given at the home of Jeanne Watkins for Val Stade. Val is engaged to Tim Watkins and the big *day will be June 6. Her future sisters-in-law, Debbie Grabo and Pat Schmitt hosted the party that day. Twenty friends and family members came with lovely gifts for the bride-to-be. After all the gifts were open everyone enjoyed a buffet lunch and cake and coffee. The second shower was at the home of Aggie Lewakowski. The guest of honor was Robin Dawley who will marry Ken Lewakowski April 25. Robin's mother, Lelia Dawley; Ken's grandma, Patrick and grandma Kawula, were among the 30 guests on hand. While the ladies were in the basement having their party the men enjoyed a good card game around the kitchen table. Before the evening was over everyone got together and had a great time dancing. Guess they thought it would be good to practice before the big day on the 25th. BIRTHDAY BOY Cheryle Michaels' son Billy turned 11 years old Sunday, April 5. In summer, it pulls neat from the warpi air in side and forces it out side to keep you cool. In winter, it reverses itself, drawing re sidual heat from the cold air outside and pumping it inside to keep you warm. Happy too, because all winter long this amazing little machine actually pro vides at least fifty percent more energy than it uses. And no body has to tell you what that means. All in all, a house that's energy-smart costs less to operate than one that's not so smart. And since the price of energy isn't going down for anv of us, itH be worth that much more shoula you ever decide to move on. If you're in the market for a new home, talk to one of the energy-smart builders. It could be the most smart thing you ever did.
