FAMILY GATHERING Saturday was an especially joyous day for Clayton and Virginia Bruce when 53 members of their family, including children, grandchildren and great­ grandchildren, gathered to celebrate Easter at their home. Their daughter, Beverly, ARE NOW TAKING ACCOUNTS FOR TNI 1981 SEASON EIGHTIETH John Hogan will be celebrating his eightieth birthday Sunday afternoon • with an open house at the Ringwood church from one until four. COMMUNITY CONCERNS Our sincere sympathy to the Carl Atello family on the recent death of their son, Peter, and to Curley Skid- more on the death of her brother, Herman Ehlert. Also to Alice Peet, a former resident, on the death of her uncle, Arthur Peet. Our prayers go to all these folks. Our sincere concern to the Albert Oonk family in the loss they received through the fire which destroyed much of their home Easter Sunday. EASTER HAPPENINGS Greg and Karen Bazilwich and their 3 children went to River Grove, 111. to spend Easter day and help Karen's father, Warren Kirwan celebrate his birthday, which was Saturday, April 18. They had dinner at the home of their friend Jane Conners in River Grove. The kids got to see their great aunt Ethel and (great uncle Dick Zwanzig again Easter Sunday. A great day was enjoyed by all.* Walt and Doris Low spent Easter Sunday with brother Bob and Sue Low in McHenry. They also had birthday cake for Doris, who's day was April 9, and Sue, April 11 (Thought you two weren't having any more birthdays??). Others there to help eat that delicious cake were Alice Mae and Walt Wilcox; Sue Madey and children of Woodstock; Pam and Dan Kehoe and girls of Elkhorn; Patti Miller and Dan Han­ son; Bobby Low and friend Pearl: Ray Low and friend , Cindy and Tom Low. A delicious dinner was enjoyed with lots of com­ panionship. The egg hunt was callea off since it. was so wet outside and the kite's didn't fly because of no wind. Oh well, all enjoyed anyhow. DELBY? ENTERTAIN Easter dinner guests at the Delby's were Chris' parents, Ron and Sonia Delby and two of his sisters, Lori and Suzanne, add Sally's parents, Dan and Sue Conrad. The Delby's live in Matteson, 111., about 95 miles south, and the Conrads live in Chicago. Religious Education Program Open House The McHenry County Special Religious Education program will hold an open house Sunday, May 3. at St. Thomas the Apostle school. Crystal Lake. The open house, which begins at 11:30 a.m., will take place on the lower level of the old St. Thomas school, Lake and King streets. The public is cordially invited to learn more about the program. Barbershop Chorus Second In Competition The Elgin Minutemen of Harmony, men's barbershop harmony chourus, which includes two McHenry men, finished second in the Illinois district chorus preliminaries held April 11 in Joliet. Under the direction ofDoug Smith, the 35 Elgin Minutemen sang a song by Irving Berlin titled Somebody's Coming To My House and a song by Mac Huff titled Little Girl. First place was taken by the South Cook Men of Note chorus.
