Some of these benefits" are listed inPsalm 103:1-5. It is my firm conviction that, everything else being equal, the contented believer in Christ will live longer, feel better, and enjoy life far more, in every wholesome way. than his neighbor who doesn't fear the Lord, nor trust His dear Son. Home life is far more congenial for the Redeemed of the Lord, that is. if they allow the love of God to rule in their hearts and lives. Thank the Lord for all His "fringe benefits". 7501 HOWE DRIVE, WONDER LAKE, ILLINOIS Christ the King Catholic Church 5006 E. Wonder lake Road Wonder Loke. Illinois [Sun. The perennial ozone season has arrived and, beginning on May 1 and continuing through Sept. 30. the Illinois Environmental Protection agency will issue a daily ozone summary for the state at 3 p„m over the Illinois Weather wire. The daily summary lists , the highest ozone levels at monitoring sites across the state for the current and the previoOs\lay along with a forecdsJ^for the following day Thi^ year's monitoring network consists of 42 monitors plus three background sites in rural areas. Additionally in the Chicago. East St Louis. Joliet and Peoria Metropolitan areas, the Pollution Standard Index fPSI) will be issued in conjunction with l-he ozone Bulletin. PSI is a standardized reporting system for ad vising the public of any adverse health effects due to air pollution, no matter what the level may be The system places maximum emphasis on acute health effects oc curring over a very short period of time - 24 hours -- rather than chronic effects occurring over months or years All five of the major air p o l l u t a n t s ; c a r b o n Legal Notice NOTICE Village of Lakemoor Municipal Building Sealed proposals for the remodeling of the first floor of the Lakemoor Municipal Building will be received by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Lakemoor at the Village Hall Council room until 8 p.m. June 11. 1981, and at that time will be publicly opened and read. The scale used is: 0-50, "good;" above 50, "moderate;" above 100, "unhealthy;" 200-299, "very unhealthy" 300 and above, "hazardous." Ozone is a pervasive secondary air pollutant and not found naturally except in the upper atmosphere where it acts as a shield against ultra-violet rays from the sun. Near ground level it is formed by a complicated photochemical reaction b e t w e e n s u n l i g h t , hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides in the presence of warm temperatures. Most hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides in the atmosphere come' from industrial and a u t o m a t i v e e x h a u s t emissions, the result of evaporating solvents and petroleum products and burning fossil fuels. Dan Goodwin. Manager of the DAPC. said, "It is ex tremely important for the general health and well- being of the public that we have accurate ozone data." Exum, Minister 499.41*0 are particularly susceptible to ozone and, their problems increase" as the ozone levels climb, he said. Warm, hazy days are almost certain indications that high ozone levels are on the way. especially during the afternoon. These higher levels typically drop after the sun goes down, but start building again during late morning hours, providing weather conditions are about the same. The IEPA has developed a four-stage alert system utilizing increasingly severe control measures as ozone levels rise to health- threatening proportions The first stage is an "Ozone Advisory" which is declared when levels reach 70 parts per billion (ppb) for a two-hour average and this level is expected to be reached again the following day. A "Yellow Alert" is declared when ozone levels reach 170 ppb for one hour and weather conditions are such that this level is ex pected to be reached again the following day. For the first time in several years, no Yellow Alerts were issued in 1960. A "Red Alert." which has never been declared in this state, occurs when levels reach 300 ppb and are ex pected to occur again the following day. An "Emergency" is declared when levels hit 500 ppb and are expected to occur the following day. There has never been an "Emergency" in Illinois. As the intensity of the alerts progress, those with respiratory and car d i o v a s c u l a r a i l m e n t s a r e . advised to curtail their activities to greater degrees I Health-related problems increase as ozone levels rise. Under a Yellow Alert, the state has the authority to seek voluntary measures from the power industry and other major pollution sources to curtail their activities to help reduce air contatninants which con tribute to the formation of ozone. Under Red and Emergency Alerts, the state has the power to curtail activities on several levels. These include the man datory shutdown of in dustries burning fossil fuels, the reduction of vehicle movement and the closing of schools. 4-Jesus Described As More Than Superstar NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that MARK WESLEY BARCHARD and HAWLEY JANE BAR CHARD, Parents of COLE BARCHARD, born October 18. 1979, are Petitioning the Circuit Court of McHenry County, Illinois, for an Order changing the name of their son, COLE BARCHARD, to COLE WESLEY BAR CHARD. Jo Winter Notary Public (Pub. April 24, May 1 & 8,1981) No. 810204 GEORGE LOUIS AGHAMALIAN "Jesus had none of the humat) credentials that we usually associate with a superstar." Despite thi$, notes George Louis '• Aghamalian in a Christian Science lecture, scheduled for Sunday, May 10, Christ Jesus has probably in fluenced more lives than any other person in history How could a man who never went to college, never wrote a book, never held an office, have such a profound impact on mankind7 Mr Aghamalian asks his audience. Referring to the popular Broadway musical "Jesus Christ Superstar," • the lecturer continues, "For Jesus to have so completely changed peoples' lives, he'd have to be a superstar in the highest sense of the word. But to also heal the sick of incurable diseases - to even raise the dead - he'd have to be more than a superstar." This "more" was the Christ, the identity and healing power which Jesus derived from his Father, God. states the lecturer. The Christly nature which permeated all of Jesus' words and healing works is interpreted by Mr. Aghamalian as a universal power, available to all mankind at all times. "The same Christ is just as available to heal you and me today," the lecturer ex plains Mr Aghamalian has been active in the Christian healing ministry as a Christian Science prac titioner for more than a quarter of a century. In 1971 he became a member of the Board of lectureship of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston He has traveled widely in this capacity Mrs. Donna Matthiesen, a member of Christian Science Society of McHenry which is sponsoring the lecture, will introduce Mr Aghamalian This lecture is free to the public and will be held at 3 p.m. at 1511 Eastwood lane, the corner of Eastwood and Lincoln avenue, McHenry.
