PAGE IJLFLAINPEALER - WEDNESDAY. MAY 13. I*1_ Lakeland Park & Lakeland Shores Carol Cominsky 385-7246 Remind All Of Ordinance One of the policemen asked me to remind people how important it is to have their house number clearly visible from the street. Th ere was a rescue call late at night recently and when the first squad arrived he was unable to find the house where they were needed. Three houses in a row were . not numbered; this meant valuable time was lost. An ordinance was passed in July, 1979, and those who have neglected to abide by it are fortunate not to have been fined. Section 21-20 House Numbering, (c.) "It shall be the duty of the owner and occupant of every house, building and structure in the city to have placed and maintained thereon, in a place clearly visible at all times fr.om the street, figures fio less than three inchdis in height showing the number of house, building or structure." •* *(e.) Any person, firm or corporation failing to so number any house, building or structure owned or oc cupied by him after receiv ing notice to do so from the cityi clerk shall be fined not less than One Dollar ($1.00) nor more than Ten Dollars ($10.00) for each day on which the failure to so number continues." If you are at fault, please put those numbers up; you could prevent a tragedy at your home. DOGS RUNNING The same officer I spoke to also said he think4 half of Lakeland Park opens their doors at 6 a.m. and lets their dogs out to run for the day. He said these congregate at the schoof bus stops when the high school and junior high schiool students are leaving. Sfeme day, a not too friendly dog may decide to cause some trouble around all these kids. There is an ordinance that says your pet has to be confined to your property. I've said it before and I'll said it again, please keep your pet home where he belongs.
