The end result of such legislation results in substantially higher con sumer cost "Since I travel often in Michigan. I have seen the effects of the "Bottle Bill". Retailers have virtually ceased to carry returnable bottles in favor of the "No Refill" variety. The average selling price is ap proximately $2 29 plus deposit. BY OWNER Elegant 9-room water front English Tudor. Brick home. Golf-cart distance from McHenry Country Club. Rich in woodwork. Beautifully landscaped grounds. Concrete patios. "Just as more legislation has failed to solve the hand gun problem, so more legislation will fail to solve the litter problem. Words put to paper will not solve the litter problem but will rather just add to the total grocery expense of the consumer. Existing 'litter' laws are virtually unenforcable so to add to statutes will ac complish little in the way of positive results. "A more positive ap proach would be to simply ban 'No Refill' containers; but then I'm sUre that there will be those who would disagree with this proposal too "William Austin "4912 Pyndale Drive "McHenry" Drive more carefully than ever and thus make doubly sure the safety of your own life.
